The "Spare Change" Jar

For the month of March, we will be donating all spare change to the Imagination Library of Delaware County. Delaware County Historical Society teamed up with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to bring free books to children under the age of 5. The program is available to Delaware County residents from birth to age 5. Children who are enrolled in the program will be mailed one, age appropriate book per month.

The "Spare Change" Jar

Since taking over The Mini Mart, we've noticed the amount of change customers leave behind because they just "don't want to carry it around." We have decided to put it to good use and will now have a "Spare Change" jar. Each month we will choose a new charity to donate the change too.

It may not be much, but every penny counts to those in need.

For the month of February we chose Animal Welfare Friends as the recipient. AWF is a local NO KILL shelter in Monticello. They have been helping dogs and cats in need of shelter and veterinary care since 2003. They have grew so much over the years and have been able to help many animals find homes.
