I just completed a new calabash. It has a Osage orange top and ferrule. My friend and world renown gourd artist Teresa Wambel applied the stain and stripe. I like what she did. That is the second calabash she has decorated for me.
Next up, a Game of Thrones pommel!

50th Anniversary 2.
Tuesday August 6th is the actual 50th anniversary of The Briary. We celebrated it in July because our guests from Italy could not coordinate it with August.
We will have Brad Emoree from The Briar Works in Tennessee. Gavin Grantham from Espinosa will deal with ci**rs. I have a bunch of new pipes including a group of Ser Jacapo pipes that were made by Giancarlo as well as others from assorted companies. I have new additions to the Corona Old Boy lighters.
Come on down and enjoy the fun!

Yesterday was very special. I want to thank each and every one of you that attended The 50th anniversary of The Briary.
We have had many events through the years some lightly attended and some where we were packed. This year our nearness to July 4th was a major concern. This was scheduled because our guests from Italy, Tommie Ascorti and Maurizio Fraternale needed to coordinate with other plans. Tommie is the maker of Caminetto pipes and Maurizio owns Arcadia which is the company that owns Ser Jacapo and distributes numerous Italian pipes including Caminetto.
The highlight of the day was our long time friends Kenny and Suzy Spencer. Kenny plays a fiddle, various whistles and concertinas. Suzy plays the keyboard. These people play with passion and a genuine love for their art. They played the entire day while taking very few breaks. Some of the customers sat in the room the whole day. If you have never been to The Briary it is a 1899 farm house which means that it is all made of wood. The acoustics are perfect for their music and could be enjoyed from anywhere in the house. I was too busy to sit in there since
business called. I have attended many concerts by famous performers and gotten totally bored. This was anything but boring. I could listen to them all day every day. Can you tell I was impressed?

Talking about impressed, Chef Tyrone Barnes cooked up the most delectable cuisine. He had beef and pork sliders, great humus and other dips. Everything I tried was better than you should expect at a fine restaurant. This man is nothing short of amazing!

Erik Stokkebye was in house to talk about his to***cos and show off his pipes and accessories. It is always nice to see him. He has attended quite a few of our events

We had a enormous assortment of pipes to examine. I also bought quite a few for the store.

Did you miss the event? Did you want to be there? Good luck, Tuesday August 6th is our actual anniversary and we are going to do this again.

Plan to be there!

Hey folks,
I wanted to mention that I bought a good size collection of to***co recently.
We have a bunch of Mc Clelland. Things like Frog Morton, various anniversary blends and Christmas Cheer. We have Dunhill light and dark flake from about 2017. There are a lot of miscellaneous blends as well.
We are not planning on putting them on the web site, at least for now.
Come by or give us a call.

Thanks,
