Our last official day as owners. Last snack runs, and photo shoots. The (now adult) kids had their last runs with the shopping carts that they grew up riding in as babies and toddlers. Bossman had his last orders of business in his rapidly emptying office before handing over his keys tomorrow morning. I would say it was a bittersweet day, but it wasn't really bitter, just sweet, and the skies were appropriately beautiful. β‘β‘
It was a family affair for sure. All the kids were helping out, as they have been all week. State-mandated liquor price-changes had to happen, in the middle of pricing every item in the store in preparation for inventory...cleaning out offices and personal items while trying to save memories and pausing to appreciate decades of time spent here. It was chaotic and stressful, and we are all exhausted...but we are also excited to be leaving such a legacy and to be able to actively support these new families with their own new beginnings here. (Its after 3am and Josh is STILL down there working!)
There were so many good conversations with customers today, memories rehashed, and tears from many, including us. So many of you went out of your way to visit us today (and recently)....and although this wont be the last day you will see us here, your support and love was greatly felt and appreciated by Bossman and myself, and by our whole family! We thank you. Words will never be enough. But as we pass this amazing torch on to these beautiful two young Gentleman and their families, and bow out of the ownership end ourselves, know that we shall continue to remain an active part of this store, this SSPS Family, and this community, and we hope that we will continue to see you around as well! We ask you to embrace these fathers and hard workers (just like Josh has always been!) and support them as you have us! We are truly grateful for each and every one of you, and they shall be grateful for your support as well! Kindness really IS what links us all together and strengthens the bonds within our communities, neighborhoods, and families! The Botsis Family has thrived thanks to our community, and although it is time to take a breath and focus on our own family for a bit, we will always continue to repay this kindness every chance we get and we hope you all shall do the same! Now..time to get some sleep, we have inventory in just a few hours, and then more work to do, we just might actually get a real day off soon!! Lol πββοΈ
Much love to you all!
