It’s December 1978 and we are wearing our ski mask toboggans they we got for Christmas! Who else wore these back in the day ? 😂😂😂 Many snowmen were made in that yard on Greenbrier Drive by the masked duo ☃️

Spoiler alert: there was no Miss Possum Pageant (that we know of) in 1974. But we like the idea. We were inspired by an episode of Beverly Hillbillies where Granny was running for Possum Queen. In our minds, the pageant went something like this:

Now, let me tell you about this here Miss Possum Pageant they had up in Hinton, West Virginia, back in '74. Why, it was quite the sight, I tell ya!

Ladies from all corners of this great county, some of the prettiest you ever did see, come flockin' in, all vying for that crown. Now, these weren't your city slicker gals, mind you. These were country girls, born and bred, with a spirit as bright as a firefly on a summer night.

And the dresses! Lord have mercy, those dresses! Every stitch made by their own fair hands, a testament to their skill and pride. Each one a masterpiece, representin' the holler they came from, with a splash of color and personality.

And the talent show, well, that was somethin' else! They had gals whittlin' wood like it was goin' out of style, playin' tunes on the jug, and cloggin' up a storm. But one gal, she really stole the show. You see, she had this pet possum, a real charmer, and she trained that critter to do the most amazing things. Why, that possum could climb a rope, juggle peanuts, and even play dead on command! The crowd went wild and she won the pageant hands down.

It was a day, lemme tell ya, a day you wouldn't soon forget. A celebration of beauty, talent, and the true spirit of West Virginia – the spirit of the country girl.
