Wow today is beautiful! It’s not too hot to get out for a hike! The Outpost has been hopping with people coming through! We just got a new order of our concrete statues and critters in! These sell fast so if you see something you like don’t wait!

If it seems like I’ve been a bit MIA lately it’s because I have 🫤. I’ve spent almost every waking moment over the past week sorting things and packing up my entire house, garage, yard, and office so that it can be shipped off to South Carolina where we will establish a new home. It’s definitely challenged me mentally, physically, and emotionally in ways i hope not to have to go through again.
With that said, all my making supplies and ingredients are packed away and I no longer have access to them. I probably won’t get access to them until after June 11th. I still have a supply of already made soap with me and can fill orders for that if you’re local to southern IL until Friday 5/31. Shipping is a bit more of a challenge as I packed away all my shipping supplies, but it’s do-able 😊. www.GrannyHenSoap.com

We have some new faces around here so we wanted to introduce ourselves!

We are the Hoffmans and the Schetkys. We are the owners of the Garden of the Gods Outpost and Timber Ridge Cabins. We moved from Alaska to Southern Illinois in the fall of 2022. We came looking for more sunshine and land to raise our kids on.

Here are a few fun facts about us:

Andrew was born and raised at a summer youth camp in Soldotna, Alaska. He loves outdoor adventures including kayaking, hiking, and water skiing. He is looking forward to exploring the Shawnee National Forest more!

Jessica dreamed of owning a hospitality business someday. She also made plans with her 6th grade best friends to build a tree house someday!

Daniel started gardening in Alaska in his laundry room with aquaponics over a decade ago! He is now managing our livestock and growing several garden plots here in southern Illinois! We hope to incorporate this experience into visiting Timber Ridge!

Anna is a lover of flowers and fabric - curating a garden of outdoor beauty and indoor arts! Make sure to walk up the hill and past the pond to check out our flower garden this summer!

We hope you will come visit Southern Illinois and fall in love with the beauty of the Shawnee Forest! And if you happen to be visiting Garden of the Gods make sure to stop in the Outpost for souvenirs and ice cream! And if you have ever dreamt of sleeping in a tree house we can make that happen!
