This weekend's finale marks the end to our 2024 season, and I am so proud of Mike and his incredible racing career! His commitment and love for the sport have been the driving force for his remarkable success. None of this could be accomplished without the dedication of friends, sponsors, and family through the years. The impressive tally of wins, records broken, and National Championships is a resounding tribute to the impact of hard work, and determination of a team.

With the end of season this year,
it closes a chapter of racing weekly in the Midwest. We are about to embark on a new adventure down south.
We do so with lots of excitement and anticipation. Though the Midwest will be deeply missed, we have been very blessed with such an incredible racing family. The outpouring of support and offers of assistance to help out with our transition has been truly heart warming.

13x 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Just got off the phone with Bill Martin at the IMCA. Although points become “official” the end of October, it sounds like we will be crowned with our 13th IMCA Stock Car National Championship.
Our 30 IMCA weekly series wins move us to 657 career and our 4 local track titles bring the career tally to 51. All are IMCA best in any division.
Can’t thank my sponsors and crew enough for all the sacrifices and work they’ve committed to our team not only this year but through the years.

We took the lead early on and never looked back last night. It was our 31st win of the season, and this one worth $2024. I had such a great time hanging with some great people. I’ve got to thank my wife Anita and of course all of our sponsors and friends that keep us going. It’s been one heck of a ride.

Took the lead and tried to drive off into the sunset last night. Had a sizable lead until the right side axle broke with 3 to go. While it was very disappointing for our team, it was so good to see Jason Ward take over the point and drive to the win. Congrats buddy! Pops would be so proud.
Thank you Justin, Mike, Shannon and Phoenix for the help. We will be at Interstate Speedway -SD next weekend to close out the year.
Thank you so very much to our marketing partners:

Great start so far. Won our first heat from 9th and our second from the pole. We will roll from the pole tomorrow night next to our buddy Jason Ward.
I gotta give a huge thank you to Shannon Mahlberg for not only the help tonight but the help last Sunday as I’ve been out of town since and was only home for an hour today before heading out. And congrats to him as he should start up front in his show tomorrow also.

Bentley Madden drew a 5 for me last night but a 12 tonight. Don’t worry Bent, we would have drawn a 27.
Track was amazing. Black slick top to bottom. Had some unexpected contact when a couple cars spun up front which I think threw off the toe a bit. But still had a good car.
Finished P2 behind a very fast Colby Fett. So very happy for him on the big win. He’s such a great wheel but more importantly to me, so respectful to his competitors. Congrats Colby! You drove a great race.
Thanks to the Shelby County Speedway Harlan, Iowa for giving us a regular weekly venue. A mile and a half from our house is so appreciated! We have supported this place for so long, we really do hope that it continues to thrive. It’s been such a pleasure racing here for so long. Thank you all for the memories along the way.
And thank you to Anita, Justin and all the people and businesses that support us. We love you all.

MRP has us as 15th but we were paid for 12th. I know some transponders weren’t working so congrats to the winner. I assume this is incorrect? Started 10th and got to 2nd on a restart - thought I could roll the middle on the restart but couldn’t. Had a green white checkered running 3rd and got a flat fighting for the same real estate as the cars close to me. Sometimes the luck doesn’t go your way.
Next weekend we will be at the Tiny Lund Memorial at Shelby County Speedway Harlan, Iowa starting Friday night. As a reminder, we still have shirts in most sizes. Make sure to get one while supplies last.

We ventured to the Clay County Fair Speedway last night for the final Dirt Crown East 👑 series race. The night ended with our 29th win of the season and a $2000 payday.
I can’t thank Justin Gessert and Anita enough for the help in getting the car ready on the short week. All in all I think we led 100 laps but 72 of them were under caution. That being said, we survived a lot of restarts against some heavy hitters.
I also can’t thank all my sponsors enough for their unwavering support.

I do want to give a shout out to the staff at Clay County. We were late arriving (shocker I know) and pulled in during the driver’s meeting. We were met by very helpful and friendly greetings and were directed to park so we could get out easily afterwards. I’d like to say the attitude of the staff drove the attitude of the night and it was very appreciated as it could very well have been the opposite.
Next up for us is championship night at Interstate Speedway -SD Sunday night.

At the end of his 30-lap GoSunoco IMCA Stock Car feature Wednesday night, Mike Nichols made his way to victory lane at Clay County Fair Speedway to pick up a very tall trophy and a $2,000 check. The Blue Ribbon Showdown checkers came with B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. (Photo by Jim Steffens)

We rolled off P2 in heat 23 and were the first to the checkered flag. We were subsequently DQ’d in post race inspection due to an adjustable upper A mount. We have an oblong slug the bolts in and has to have a tack weld on it - I didn’t have a tack weld. I was naive to think to do this and hadn’t been to tech yet this week for them to look.
I will get it welded and try again tomorrow. Tech guys just doing their job and called us on something we didn’t know.
I apologize to all of my sponsors and friends who help out. We will be back better than ever.

Our 30th anniversary shirts are in! We will be in Park Jefferson Thursday night and then will be in Boone around mid day Sunday. They are $25 each, first come first served.
Front shows the IMCA Racing logo from when we first started. The back is an outline of the Chevelle I started with back in 1994. “I was stock car when stock car wasn’t cool”. 😎

We didn’t have social media a couple decades ago. But in the time from then to now, my life has changed. We’ve won a few races but nowadays they all look better with her in victory lane.
Sincerely, all props to my better half, this is a woman who NEVER went to a race before we dated. 8ish national championships later, she sets tire pressure, changes tires, does so many things on the car as well as keeping everything else going.
Hats off to all the wonderful ladies in our racing world. For me, I’ve been blessed with one of the best! Thank you babe Anita Nichols!

Wanted to update our race results. Monday night we went 10 to P2 with a broken RF weight jack cup. Had a great race with Austin Brands but couldn’t rattle him. Congrats Austin on the win. I raced so many years with his dad. Seeing him be successful feels so great as compared with looking in the mirror and seeing all the grays.
Last night we picked up win #28 at SCS with the new B&B as well as the track championship. If my memory serves me right, it was IMCA championship #50, will have to get confirmation from Mr. Bill Martin at IMCA.
Tonight was postponed due to the heat so we prepped our car for what I’m mostly certain is our final IMCA Boone Supernationals.
FYI we should receive shirts this week from Sybesma Graphics and they are poised to be badass. They will be available as first come first serve, $25 each. We will have them at Boone. Will post pics when we get them.
