Utopias 2023 is a blend of multiple batches of Sam Adam’s Extreme Beers that they’ve held in reserve for just this purpose. In fact, this beer is aged in some barrels that are nearly 30 years old. In addition to American bourbon barrels, Scotch and peated whisky barrels were also used.
This flavorful, slightly fruity brew has a sweet, malty flavor that is reminiscent of a deep, rich vintage port, fine cognac or aged sherry.
This extreme barrel-aged beer is recommended to be served in a 2-ounce portion served at room temperature in a sniffer to capture all the aromas.
