Recognized Potential: The Story Behind Shea Masterson’s Success at Spinx

Shea Masterson is the General Manager Trainer at a Spinx store in Cashiers, North Carolina. He joined the company nearly eight years ago after impressing then-Territory Manager Angela Owens—now a Market Director—during a fast-paced shift at a fast-food restaurant in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. Recognizing his potential, Angela recruited him the next day.

With his strong background in food service and customer experience, Shea was brought on board at Spinx to become a Food and Beverage Manager. A Lander University graduate, he credits his long tenure to the support of leaders like his current Territory Manager, Joann Galloway, who stood by him through personal challenges. Their belief in him has cemented his loyalty, and he looks forward to continuing his growth with Spinx.

A Journey of Growth, Belonging, and Purpose – The Dalton Johnson Story

Dalton Johnson currently serves as a Territory Manager at Spinx. He has been with the company for seven years, beginning his journey as a Manager in Training. Upon completing the training program, Dalton transitioned into the role of Assistant General Manager.
Prior to joining Spinx, Dalton worked at BI-LO grocery stores but found limited opportunities for growth. Encouraged by Michael Morton—a fellow BI-LO alum and Spinx teammate—Dalton decided to explore new possibilities with Spinx. He was hired shortly after his interview and quickly progressed into becoming a General Manager.

Dalton describes his move to Spinx as “meant to be” and considers it the best career decision he’s ever made. He values the company’s family-like atmosphere, strong sense of community, and the openness he experienced when meeting Spinx Founder, Stewart Spinks.

A particularly meaningful moment for Dalton came when his middle daughter was born prematurely. He recalls the overwhelming support he received—from top leadership to his fellow teammates—as a powerful reflection of the company's caring culture.

Maria Jacquet joined Spinx in 2014 as a part-time Customer Service Representative and went full-time just three weeks later. Drawing on her management experience in England, she quickly rose through the ranks to become a Shift Supervisor, Assistant General Manager, and General Manager and now serves as General Manager Trainer at a store in Summerville. For Maria, Spinx feels like a second home where she’s treated like family.
