During the lawless dry years of Prohibition, Birdie Brown ( and her cat) presided over a legendary secret-her own little saloon in the parlor of her Montana home. It was here, against the trickle of Brickyard Creek, that Ms. Brown made the country's best whiskey, distilled from wheat, oats and barley grown on her homestead. Today, they make this whiskey to her exacting standards, inspired by Birdie's very own recipe.

Fun Recipe Friday!!! Let's go with something fitting for the actual beginning of the nice weather: The Piña colada. This recipe brought to you by Food Network is a real pleaser!! Give it a whirl.

Yields 2 servings.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup ice
1/2 cup diced pineapple, frozen
2 ounces pineapple juice
2 ounces Coco Lopez coconut cream
1 1/2 ounces white rum
1 ounce dark rum
Pineapple slices

Instructions:
Step 1: Put the ice, frozen pineapple, juice, coconut cream, and the white and dark rums into a blender. Blend until smooth and frosty.
Step 2: Pour the drink into 2 glasses and garnish the rim with pineapple slices.

Fun Recipe Friday is back & we want to send you into the weekend with a yummy new cocktial to sip on!!

With the weather getting warmer & bikini season getting closer, this is the perfect cocktail by Lena Abraham via delish.com to get you ready for the summer days ahead.

We present to you :
THE BIKINI MARTINI

Yields 2 servings

INGREDIENTS
4 oz. coconut rum
4 oz. pineapple juice
2 oz. vodka
Ice
1 oz. grenadine (1/2 oz. per glass)
Maraschino cherries, for garnish
Pineapple wedge, for garnish

DIRECTIONS
Step 1: Combine coconut rum, pineapple juice, vodka, and a few ice cubes in a cocktail shaker and shake until cold. Strain into martini glasses and slowly pour 1/2 ounce of grenadine into each glass.
Step 2: Garnish with cherries and a wedge of pineapple.
Step 3: Enjoy!!

We present to you:
The STRAWBERRY BASIL VODKA SPRITZER

INGREDIENTS
4 Pieces Strawberry
1 oz Lemon Juice
2 Leaves Basil
1 oz Vodka
1/3 oz Simple Syrup
Soda Water
4 More Pieces Strawberry
Ice Cubes

INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1: Muddle 4 strawberries, lemon juice, basil, vodka and simple syrup in a highball glass. Fill with ice cubes.
Step 2: Top up with soda water. Garnish with strawberries.
Step 3: Enjoy!

St. Patrick's Day is here & we couldn't be more thrilled!! We love it & know you love it as well! So, with that in mind, how about some quick alcohol history of the holiday??

To sum it up quickly, St. Patrick was born in Great Britain, brought to Ireland as a slave, escaped from his captors, dipped back to GB & became a cleric. He later returned back to Ireland claiming that the people of Ireland called to him.

Of course, he is well known for his expulsion of the naughty serpents from Ireland. (Though, this is a story & is not accurate)

Now onto the history of why we all get slushed on . As it is known, "St. Patrick's Day began as a feast day held in honor of St. Patrick on the anniversary of the day he died," according to Jeff Flowers of kegerator.com. Basically, Christians could do some rule breaking during Lent & get their freak on for the day ONLY. Thus allowing the Christians of Ireland to do some drinking & get their fix of being baddies. This tradition continued yearly and made its way to groups all over the globe. That is why we all get lit on St. Patrick's Day & will continue to get lit today on .

Total: 3 hrs
Servings: 6
Yield: 6 large servings

INGREDIENTS:
4 slices bacon, cut into small pieces
2 ½ pounds boneless beef chuck, cut into 2-inch pieces
1 teaspoon salt, or more to taste
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
2 onions, coarsely chopped
½ teaspoon salt
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 (14.9 ounce) can dark beer (such as Guinness®)
¼ cup tomato paste
4 sprigs fresh thyme
3 carrots, cut into 1-inch pieces
2 stalks celery, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 teaspoon white sugar
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
2 ½ cups chicken stock, or as needed to cover
4 cups mashed potatoes (Optional)

INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1
Cook and stir bacon in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat until bacon is browned and crisp, 3 to 4 minutes. Turn off heat and transfer bacon into a large stew pot, reserving bacon fat in the skillet.

Step 2
Season beef chuck cubes generously with 1 teaspoon salt and black pepper to taste. Turn heat to high under skillet and sear beef pieces in the hot fat on both sides until browned, about 5 minutes. Place beef in stew pot with bacon, leaving fat in skillet. Turn heat down to medium; cook and stir onions in the retained fat in the skillet until lightly browned, 5 to 8 minutes; season with a large pinch of salt.

Step 3
Cook garlic with onions until soft, about 1 minute; pour beer into skillet and stir with a wooden spoon, scraping up and dissolving any browned bits of food into the liquid. Pour cooking liquid from skillet into the stew pot. Stir in tomato paste, thyme sprigs, carrots, celery, sugar, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, and enough chicken broth to cover.

Step 4
Bring stew to a gentle simmer, stirring to combine; reduce heat to low and cover pot. Simmer stew until beef is fork-tender, about 2 hours. Stir stew occasionally and skim fat or foam if desired.

Step 5
Remove cover and raise heat to medium-high. Bring stew to a low boil and cook until stew has slightly thickened, 15 to 20 minutes. Remove and discard thyme sprigs and adjust salt and pepper to taste.

Step 6
Arrange mashed potatoes in a ring in a serving bowl; ladle stew into the center of the potatoes.

Step 7
Enjoy!!

Fun Recipe Friday is here!! Let's get something cold and sweet to start the weekend!

Time to bring out your inner Jackie Moon with the refreshing ALLEY-OOP!!

INGREDIENTS:
1.3 ounces Rye Whisky any of your preference
½ ounce lemon juice
¼ ounce ginger syrup
1 teaspoon simple syrup
¾ ounce sparkling water
Raspberries
Mint leaves

INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1: Add lemon juice, ginger syrup, simple syrup, raspberries & mint leaves into a shaker and muddle.
Step 2: Add Rye Whisky & shake. Double strain into an ice filled punch glass or coupe. Top off with sparkling water & stir.
Step 3: Enjoy!!

Optional: Garnish with mint leaves & a maraschino cherry.
