“The Somm Series” Volume XVIII: Curds & Corks

Join us at 7pm on Thursday, January 16th, as we welcome back our talented friend, Evan Talen of The Flavor Sherpa , for an evening focused on cheese and wine from around the world. Evan, a Certified Cheese Professional, will educate you on the various styles and production techniques of cheese while Tom, Grand Vin’s Owner and a Certified Sommelier, will pair wine with each of the cheeses. Come and enjoy a 5-course whirlwind tour of cheese and wine with two of the biggest nerds in town!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!! We just turned 3 (Technically it was 2 weeks ago, but life has been busy 😬)!! It’s literally wild to see how much has changed these last few years!!

Chef Matt, the former Co-Owner and Executive Chef at Marcona, and the talented culinary team from Steadfast will curate an exquisite 5-course tasting menu and Tom, Grand Vin’s Owner and Sommelier, will compliment each course with a unique Champagne pairing. 🦄 Special Bottle Alert 🦄

We are thrilled to welcome in some extremely limited library release bottlings from one of our all-time favorite producers: Emidio Pepe

Emidio Pepe founded his current estate in 1964 after years of working alongside his father and his grandfather, both of whom had extensive experience in both winemaking and viticulture throughout the region dating back to the late 1800’s. Long before anyone else in Abruzzo, Emidio strongly believed in the great aging potential of the indigenous grape varietals of the region: Trebbiano, Pecorino, and Montepulciano. An attentive custodian of his estate’s terroir, Emidio has protected his soils and his vines from chemicals, and his delicate approach to the winemaking process showcases his dedication to the production of wines that exude a genuine expression of the terroir of Abruzzo.

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, considered to be the pinnacle of the Burgundy (if not of the entire wine world), produces some of the world’s most revered expressions of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay - Year in and year out these wines are amongst the most highly sought after, collectible, and rarest in the world.

We are thrilled to have just received our prized allocation: Romanée-Saint-Vivant and La Tâche, both of the 2019 vintage.
