ICYMI Here's what you missed last Saturday. Welcome to this week's RECORK.

Two ancient islands, half a world away.
Both born of fire, and brimstone, and violent upheaval. The Earth, forcing its way from deep within the depths of hell itself, to the surface. Creating a new land of rock and heat.

These treacherous lands; Sicily and New Zealand, may not seem like they share similarities, but look closer and you'll see these two islands on opposite sides of the planet (literally), share more and just being surrounded by water.

The wines bare that out; both lighter styled reds, and big fat glorious white wines that highlight the volcanic terrior beautifully. Moreover, these wines deliver more bang for the buck than you'll normally see in these styles.

Welcome to the first of a new series we're calling the Weekend Recork.

This will be your spot to check out a recap (recork, get it?) from the past weekend, in case you weren't able to swing through and try our free Saturday tasting.

We brought the fun stuff last Saturday with a selection of rosés from around the world, and one skin-contact white wine (aka Amber or Orange).

Continuing our Summer long adventure through people pleasing wines, or wines perfectly suited for your backyard food adventures, these wines hit the spot and covered the broad range of what rosés cans, and should, be.

Fire up the brats, get your pretzel necklaces ready, cuz the Oktoberfests are arriving!

Listen, I know it's still July, and it's still hot out, not exactly the ideal time for a Fall beer. But hear me out, we're still using the grill and charring up brats, and sausages, and burgers, and there's no better beer on the planet with the backyard grill sesh, than a crispy Oktoberfest.

So, while we can all agree these are dropping a bit earlier than they probably should, that doesn't change their deliciousness and usefulness.

Besides, they always sell out, and you don't want to miss them this year, do you?
