2023 - May 29th at 10am 🇺🇸 Memorial Day Service presented by the Robert Stratton Post 616 Legion and Auxiliary of Good Thunder will be held at the Barnard Valley View Cemetery. Bring your lawn chair if you would like to be seated. 🇺🇸 Can’t make it? Pay tribute to the U.S. men and women who have died in service to their country and those who have gone before by observing a National Moment of Remembrance with a minute of silence at 3pm 🇺🇸

Robert's mom, Georgine Anderson is turning 100 years old on December 8th, 2022.
Her family is having a Birthday Party in her honor on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at the Red Iron Mercantile. From 2 to 6 PM.

Her family hopes you'll stop in and wish her a Happy Birthday!

This is worth sharing a year later.
Maybe some need to reread this and realize what Robert's really about.

2021
History is in the making here at little town USA, Good Thunder, MN.
LIfelong resident and true believer of good things can come from hard work.
Robert Anderson owner of Arnold Anderson Trucking Inc, a company his parents Arnold & Georgine (Schickling) Anderson started back in 1942, has started a massive project. As if he had time for anymore.
Now anyone that knows Robert, knows Robert has done nothing but work for at last 62 of his 65 years on this earth. (As 98 yr old Georgine will tell you)
His desire is to leave lasting memories on this earth. (He restores old trucks for fun.)
Now hes building for the betterment of Good Thunder..
Little did Robert know that a peice of land he had bought many years ago from Roger & Eileen Dalluge would be a strong part of Good Thunders future.

Robert keep saying I'm going to build something there someday.. He tossed around many different ideas over the last 20 years. Till his direction was made clear. Thus the RED IRON MERCANTILE is being built.

It will be a convenience store a step above. A community - where to go spot. It will also has 3 apartments to be rented above the store.
The Gas is finally OPEN.
Fast food, GROCERIES, ETC. To come.
Hes talking old movies on the wall on a weekend during the summer with free popcorn. Cup of Pop for a $1. Bring you lawn chairs, and all your friends to relax.
Hes putting in washer/dryers on the east so people can do there laundry in town.
So much more to come from this man...

UPDATE: THE NEW ELECTRICIAN - GUY DOYLE IS DONE WITH THE RED IRON Mercantile llc.
GUY'S DEVOTION TO HELPING ROBERT GET THE STORE OPEN WAS UNBELEIVABLE. HE WAS SUCH A PLEASURE HAVING AROUND.
THANK YOU, GUY DOYLE FOR COMPLETING A VERY DIFFICULT SITUATION.

The Red Iron has changed Electricians & the Plumbers. It needs to be open.
Tony Walters (GT kid) - Key City Electric did the apartments in a very short time. They rock!
Guy Doyle (grew up GT) - Doyle Electric is finishing the convenient store. It is moving at top speed. Guy & Dylan is putting in long hours to fix & get everything done.

Plumbers- (furnaces, air conditions, & kitchen venting). NOW DONE! The new owners of this company rocks!

within the last few days. Someone has stolen A VERY LARGE PEICE of ouR kitchen equipment. It was sitting under the RED IRON SIGN.
Did anyone see anything being loaded in the last few days.

They would have needed at least a pickup box to haul it.
its needed ASAP.

Joe Newbert brought the last 2 section of fence to the RED IRON MERCANTILE today and installed them.
He did phenomenol job, creating a fence for Robert. He has exceeded Robert's expectations. Thxs Joe.
