Since the early 70’s having ascended from South America, Colombia, Victor Orozco came to Miami Beach, Florida where, due to his basic understanding of the French language, he was offered an opportunity to work with the French and Italian Sommeliers at a famous restaurant, The Forge. With his limited English and no understanding of wine and its culture, Victor then started an uncertain career path,
not by design nor by family traditions, but a mere coincidence that instantly created a deep love and passion for this eloquent bliss that did indeed became a tradition that now he share with his sons, Richard Orozco and Steve Orozco. That’s how they learned, since childhood, the concept and their father’s passion for wine, inheriting his persistence, strong vision, and growing in the understanding of the wine culture. Victor’s early years through his “Journey of Wine”, opened the international doors of relationships, acclamations for his unique knowledge and experiences, and the opportunity of tasting exotic samples of fine and rare wine from around the globe, at a time when the French wines carried the iconic mirror. Years passed, and just as the history of wine intertwined with the history of cuisine, civilization and humanity, our collected passion for wine, following more than three decades of experience and facing the new trends and the diversity offered by the world of wine, CATAVINO WINE IMPORTS was conceived.
