We cannot be more excited to continue this partnership. Our passion and love for the Park has been present since the initial ‘joint venture’ days in 1947. The current NPS staff and administration is outstanding and a class act to partner with. We have all been through the grinder the past few years: pandemic, fires and catastrophic floods coupled with record visitation. Ouch! However; this is a nice start to put those issues behind and focus fresh with a long term partnership. As former YPSS’ers would say: ‘Gas with class.’ 😎

(News Release) Yellowstone National Park announced today the selection of Yellowstone Park Service Stations, Inc. (YPSS) as the concessioner for the new contract (CC-YELL004-23) to provide automotive and retail services in the park. This contract will be effective for 10 years from Nov. 1, 2023, to Oct. 31, 2033.

YPSS is the incumbent operator and has provided automotive and retail services in the park since the 1980s. The public is not expected to experience any changes or interruptions in service.

Solicitation of concession business opportunities within national park sites and the selection of best proposals are routine processes for in the National Park Service, dictated by the 1998 Concessions Management Improvement Act (1998 Act). By law, all contracts are issued through a fully open and competitive process, awarding contracts to those with the best proposal.

What a great article about some great folks that worked for us last year. We already know that some will be returning in 2023. We cannot stress enough our appreciation of our partnership with Waubonsee!

If you plan a vacation this summer to Yellowstone National Park and find yourself at one of their four automotive service stations or stuck on the side of the road, you might have the opportunity to meet a student enrolled in Waubonsee Community College's Automotive Technology Program.

There are many signs of spring in Yellowstone: mountain bluebirds, bears emerging from their dens, baby bison being born, AND late season snowstorms! Yellowstone opens for the summer season on Friday, but it sure felt more like winter today.

YPSS would like to wish a very Happy 150th Anniversary to Yellowstone National Park! On this day in 1872 the Yellowstone National Park Protection Act was signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant, creating the world’s first National park.

Yellowstone Park Service Stations is proud to have been a part of the history of serving visitors to Yellowstone. Since 1947, YPSS has been providing automotive services “for the benefit and enjoyment of the people”. Each year our hard-working seasonal employees assist millions of visitors to travel through, experience, and enjoy the many wonders of Yellowstone National Park.

Fishing Bridge service station is located on the East Entrance road next to Yellowstone Lake, Yellowstone River, and its namesake - the historic Fishing Bridge. In addition to our convenience store items, we also have an ATM and a propane filling station.

Mammoth service station is the oldest station in Yellowstone, built around 1920. Inside we carry many products of a modern convenience store including snacks, drinks, F’Real milkshakes, and have an ATM available.

Mammoth station is currently open from 8am - 7pm. This time of year our oldest station is often visited by some of Yellowstone’s youngest residents - baby bison!

The Old Faithful Upper service station opened for business yesterday! Our current hours are 9am - 6pm.

The Upper station is located on the eastern end of the greater Old Faithful metropolis, nearer to the Visitor Center and large parking area.

Next week we’ll be working to open our Mammoth Hot Springs station!

Canyon Service Station opened for business today! Current station hours are 8am - 6pm.

For the next few weeks we’ll be the only service open for visitors in the Canyon Village area. Our Old Faithful Upper station is scheduled to open this Friday, the 30th.

Due to an unforeseen problem with the water line to the Canyon Service Station, we’ve unfortunately had to delay opening the convenience store. The National Park Service is working hard to complete repairs as soon as possible. Emergency road service and fuel are still available. We’re excited to get the season going, and we’ll update on when we can open!

The 2021 summer season in Yellowstone officially started today with the opening of the interior roads from West Yellowstone and Gardiner to Old Faithful and Canyon.

We open our first station at Canyon next Friday, the 23rd! In the meantime, fuel is available 24-hours a day with a credit card at our Canyon and Old Faithful locations for visitors exploring the park this first week of the season.
