Big Dave's Ci**rs has just received the Montecristo M ci**rs with the 20 year old wrapper.

Like many Montecristos in the Altadis portfolio, the upcoming Montecristo M is made in Nicaragua by A.J. Fernandez. The binder and filler are Nicaraguan, but the focus here is the wrapper, a leaf of Ecuadoran to***co grown from Connecticut seeds that Altadis says was aged for 20 years.

The Montecristo M was blended to be medium in body with the intention to highlight the more subtle aspects of the aged, Ecuador Connecticut wrapper (which tends to lean mild). The Nicaraguan binders and fillers were dialed back in strength to allow the wrapper flavor to be the major point.

Big Dave's Ci**rs is pleased to announce the arrival of Plasencia Ci**rs El Año de la Culebra Edición Limitada 2025.

Each of the ci**rs, twisted or not, measure 7 inches by 40 ring gauge. Plasencia refers to these as lanceros, but they are made without the pigtail cap found on typical lanceros.

Each box contains one culebra, two lanceros twisted together, and eight lanceros. Both are able to be purchased, but with only one culebra per box, they will go fast.

The Casa Magna Maduro is made in the Dominican Republic at the Quesada Ci**rs factory. Its focus is the dark Mexican San Andrés wrapper, but this is not the same internal blend as the acclaimed Casa Magna Colorado, which is all Nicaraguan. The new cigar also consists of a Nicaraguan binder and a filler blend with to***co from Nicaragua, the United States (Pennsylvania) and the Dominican Republic.

Back in stock from J.C. Newman Cigar Company, the Yagua.

Yagua is a recreation of a farm-rolled cigar that Lazaro Lopez, general manager of the J.C. Newman PENSA cigar factory in Nicaragua, remembers his grandfather making at his family’s to***co farm in Cuba in the 1940s. Over dinner in 2019, Lopez shared this story with Newman:

“At our family farm, my grandfather would take fresh to***co leaves from the curing barns and roll ci**rs without any molds or presses,” said Lopez. “In an attempt to give his ci**rs a traditional shape, he would tie a handful of them together using pieces of the Cuban royal palm tree, known as the yagua. When he was ready to enjoy his personal ci**rs, he untied the bundle. He loved how every cigar had its own unique shape. I still remember the rich aroma and taste of my grandfather’s ci**rs.”

Big Dave's Ci**rs has received the Las Calaveras Décimo Aniversario, a 6 x 52 toro that uses an Ecuadorian habano oscuro wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers. All of the Nicaraguan to***co used in the blend was grown by the García family, who are the owners of My Father.

As the name implies—décimo aniversario is Spanish for tenth anniversary—the cigar is being made to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Las Calaveras, an annual limited edition from Crowned Heads that pays tribute to those close to the company’s personnel who have lost their lives.

The ADVentura Blue Eyed Jack’s Revenge has a blend that uses a Mexican San Andrés Colorado wrapper, a Dominican olor binder, and Dominican fillers, with the to***co having been aged for five years prior to rolling. The ci**rs are produced at Tabacalera Mina del Rey, which ADV & McKay’s co-founders—Knobel and Henderson Ventura—opened in late 2023. Once the ci**rs have been rolled, they head to the factory’s aging rooms for six months of rest prior to release.

Two new additions to the collection of Big Dave's Ci**rs from La Aurora Cigar US and Gurkha Ci**rs.

La Aurora Cigar US Preferidos in Connecticut, Maduro, Broadleaf, Cameroon, Corojo, and Sumatran blends. The Preferidos line was the first cigar manufactured in the Dominican Republic back in 1903. Its beautiful, unique shape was designed to offer a perfect blend of varying intensities.
