It takes a "village" or maybe a dedicated-to-the-community family to operate a successful business that has been a mainstay on the corner of Platte Avenue and West Street for decades. Congratulations to Village Liquor Store and the Ayala family for being selected as this month's Business of the Month for July. The small business operation is known for more than just its customer service and surprisingly large assortment of stock at reasonable prices. Rather, one of its strengths lies in in its broad approach to supporting the Fort Morgan community including donations of product and service to such agencies as the Center for Healing Trauma and Attachment, Morgan Community College Foundation, 4-H, and Boy/Girl Scouts as well as individuals who might need meal assistance during the holidays. Juan Jr. served on the City of Fort Morgan's planning commission for several years and continues to promote Fort Morgan and other local businesses through other cooperative ventures.
A village is those friends, neighbors, extended family members, and acquaintances who, whether it's intentional or not, help support and champion us. Their name says it all!
