📢In an open letter, Zonta International President Salla Tuominen expresses profound gratitude to Gisèle Pelicot of France for her extraordinary bravery.

Over a span of 10 years, Gisèle endured unimaginable acts of violence by more than 50 men, orchestrated by her then husband. By choosing to speak out and waive her anonymity, she shifted the shame from victim to perpetrator, uncovering the shadows of gender-based violence and empowering countless women and girls to find their voices.

Gisèle, your courage and resilience inspire us all. While justice cannot undo the past, your actions are a beacon of hope and a call to end violence against women.

On behalf of the more than 25,000 Zontians in 64 countries, thank you, Gisèle, for being resilient, strong and brave.

For over 35 years, Findlay Hope House for the Homeless has offered a safe and secure place to stay for women and children facing homelessness in our community. Started as the result of a vision by Sister Karen Elliott who envisioned the opportunities the building could offer to the community, hundreds of women and children have found comfort, solace and guidance at the transitional shelter over the years. With the guidance of professional case managers, the transitional shelter offers a respite from homelessness and hope for a brighter future.
Rental assistance programs were added many years ago. These programs provide relief for men, as well as women, families and individuals. Together, the Housing Office at The Family Center and the Transitional Shelter, work to alleviate homelessness in our community. The Zonta Club of Findlay has been a proud partner with Hope House throughout the years. We salute their efforts and accomplishments today as part of our 16 Days of Activism campaign! ❤️

Zonta says NO to violence against women✋🏽🟠

Our local police officers are on the front lines continuously protecting women and children from violent acts against them. As part of our 16 Days of Activism, our Zisters decided to stop over to the Findlay Police Department and Hancock County Sheriff's Office and deliver them some goodies from Dietsch Brothers Fine Chocolates and Ice Cream and Wolfies Roasted Nuts - a small token of appreciation for their service.

We appreciate all of our first responders and the steps they take every day to protect our local women and children.
