📢In an open letter, Zonta International President Salla Tuominen expresses profound gratitude to Gisèle Pelicot of France for her extraordinary bravery.

Over a span of 10 years, Gisèle endured unimaginable acts of violence by more than 50 men, orchestrated by her then husband. By choosing to speak out and waive her anonymity, she shifted the shame from victim to perpetrator, uncovering the shadows of gender-based violence and empowering countless women and girls to find their voices.

Gisèle, your courage and resilience inspire us all. While justice cannot undo the past, your actions are a beacon of hope and a call to end violence against women.

On behalf of the more than 25,000 Zontians in 64 countries, thank you, Gisèle, for being resilient, strong and brave.
