Family owned convenience store that features Marathon Brand Fuels. In 1972 Jim and Sharon James purchased a full service gas station from Ethal Natter.

It was a Mobil station where you could not only get gas but have small repairs done. Jim specialized in Volkswagen vehicles. Dana Furseth was on of the first of many employee and in 1973 leased the station from the James'. This is when the James' moved their small family to Grantspass, OR. While there the James' children Rick, Mike & Angie welcomed home a baby sister Tammy in 1974 completing the f

amily. In 1975 they moved back to Fennimore and took back operating the station. Then 1976 brought the next change into converting the gas station into a convenience/gas station which offered home delivery of groceries also. This is where the current owner Angie would get her start with the business by putting away groceries and cleaning the then outside bathrooms. Around the years 1981 to 1989 Jim had his sister Dixie Miles manage the station for them. From around the fall of 1989 to mid 1990 their son Rick who just graduated with a business management degree ran the store for them. At this time it went from a Mobil station to a Sinclair station. In 1991 Angie then became a clerk at the store. Forward to 1996 a new addition was added for liquor products and to bring the bathrooms indoors. By 2001 they then changed to the BP brand gasoline. 2003 brought Angie into the managers position which then allowed Jim and Sharon to quit working at the store. In 2007 Angie James married Lee Faith, bought the store from her parents and also purchased the Gunderson property adjacent to the back of the store. Which then allowed for greater parking for the customer's. In 2008 Angie and Lee then purchased the old Whistle Stop Cafe' beside the station, so then trucks and trailers could access the lot. In2013 they did a complete full circle and was once again a Mobil gas station. The James/Faith familes have always gave back in support of the community. And have always been very thankful to the loyal customers. Still today you can find Jim & Sharon up at the station helping with maintenance, painting or cleaning. We pride ourselves in being a family owned and operated business all these years. So we ask you to be smart, shop Speedy Mart, where Convenience costs less. The only thing we ask on the Page as our friend is to be polite, no fowl language.

Here is a bit of information about our diesel fuel.
When ever we get a load of fuel I personally put this extra detergent in the fuel so that your vehicle runs in tip top shape. It's called Archoil. If you have several vehicles you may want to consider getting a Marathon fleet card. It will save you 7cents per gallon. We currently have Winter blend in the diesel but this is just a perk to help maintain your Vehicle

Right now the Rewards is not working. Trying to get it fixed. If you prepay inside you can use your rewards then. It will automatically reduce the price of fuel at the pump when you prepay. It will prompt you at the pin pad to use your rewards. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Here's the scoop!
We had some wiring issues so it has taken longer to get back up and running.
We worked around the issue by going to a wireless wifi communication to the new pumps. Everything is back on schedule. Hoping to be back up and running late this afternoon or early this evening. Just have some tweeking to do with the communication between the cash register and the pumps and calibrating to do to on the pumps to make sure you get the gallons you pay for.

Monday is the day. We will be shut down for selling gas and taking credit cards by 10am. Cash and local checks only will be accepted during this time period since we will have no network available until everything is completed on Aug 6th.
So sorry for the inconvenience

After August 4th 2024 we will not longer be accepting Mobil Loyalty Rewards cards or Mobil Gas cards due to our change to Marathon. We will be closed to sell gas or take credit cards on August 5th and 6th in order to complete this change over. We will still be able to take cash & local checks.
So sorry for the inconvenience.

I am pleased to announce that as of the end of July we will be switching fuel brands. We will no longer be selling Mobil gas and diesel.
We have decided to switch to Marathon Name Branded fuel.
I am confident that this fuel will meet the standards above and beyond Mobil name brand fuel.
This fuel will have 4 times the detergents above and beyond the state minimum requirement which will result in better fuel mileage for everyone. Diesel will also have the same high standards. As a result of this new change we will no longer be accepting the loyality rewards cards after we make the change
Marathon also has a rewards app that you can download on your phone that has several offers that you can take advantage of and you can also aquire points to use at later time on fuel. If you are unable to download apps on your phone you can still sign up an use your phone number to get points and redeem.
We will also be getting new gas and diesel pumps that will greatly improve your time spent at the pump. We are very excited about this change. Thank you for all who have continued to patronize Speedy Mart over the years. It's your support over the years that has made it possible for this small town business to keep going. We look forward to continue doing business with you in the future.
