Spain has fully shed its reputation as a land of mediocre wines and stepped into a golden age of winemaking. With one foot rooted in tradition and the other stepping boldly forward, Spanish wine today is both deeply classic and strikingly modern.

This Level I Harry’s Wine School course is your guided intro to the country’s most defining grapes and regions. Together, we’ll explore both the historic methods and today’s cutting-edge techniques — or as the Spanish call it, “elaboración.”

We’ll cover:
🍷Rioja - The heart of Spanish reds
🍷Ribera del Duero - Bold, structured, age-worthy 🍷Priorat - Intense, mineral-driven wines

2023, Grosjean Pinot Noir

A beautiful, high altitude, alpine Pinot Noir from one of my favorite regions in Italy, the Valle d'Aosta. Intense ruby color, flavors of cherry, flowers and sweet spices. Pairs with a wide variety of food such as meats, pastas, cheeses, mushroom risottos, and it's a red that is delicate enough to pair with full flavored fish.

A limited number of bottles will be released online Friday, April 4th at 9:00 pm EST until marked ‘sold out’.
In-person sales begin Saturday, April 5th. Doors open at 8:00 am.

This year's recipe is OBSQ, a first for us! It comes in at 10yrs & 8mo and 115.2 proof. It was stored on floor #2 and was gently coaxed to maturity with a bit of extra time aging. This barrel has an awful lot packed into it, and now that you have its stats, let's get into what to expect...

The nose lets you know right away that you are in for a treat. Layers and layers of potential from soft honeyed notes to buttery softness and wet stone. The fruit is in the Orange/Tangerine family, and spices include light Cinnamon, nutmeg notes and there is a floral yellow Rose component that adds another delicate layer. This one really speaks to you before you even taste it. But! Don't let this one fool you...

The OBSQ is a high-rye mashbill, and with the 115+ proof, you are going to know there is more to this one than a soft, pretty bourbon. This has muscle that includes peppery spice and old barn wood, along with many of the notes that the nose was hinting at. Sturdy tannin structure, lots of mouthfeel and a loooong finish that reminds you of its presence long after you've set the glass down. Great balance and a very full expression of Four Roses!

Edelzwicker is a local term for the field blend of grapes that goes into a white wine in Alsace. On the palate, this is dry, floral and exhuberant with a mineral-driven finish. Pair with smoked fish.

Ripe orchard fruit and citrus abound in your glass, but there’s still a light mineral spine and refreshing acidity that balance things out.
