Top Shelf Cigar is not for sale after all. My industry was largely ignored by the Federal government for almost 100 years. The Obama administration raised the federal tax 1000% on ci**rs and put ci**rs under the control of the FDA in 2009. This resulted in the price of ci**rs going up almost 40% since 2009.
The Biden administration’s open border policies has caused our industry to lose 30-40% of our skilled workers in Nicaragua, Honduras and the Dominican Republic.
For the first 16 years my business grew 5% a year, roughly the rate of population growth in my area. In the last 4 years my sales have dropped 20%.
My industry might not have survived 4 more years of a Democrat administration.
