We are a Co-ed professional business fraternity that welcomes students of all majors. The Kappa chapter at the University of Oregon helps its members get to know their fellow classmates in the Lundquist College of Business. Our chapter represents a small cohort of the over 4,600 undergraduates in the College of Business who want to develop their professional skills outside of the classroom. It is

not a requirement, however, to be a business major to become a member of our chapter. In fact, over a quarter of our membership are not Business/Accounting majors. Many other majors consist of Economics, Public Relations, Political Science, Psychology, and Journalism. No matter their background or area of study, the members of our chapter get to take advantage of many professional activities including guest speakers, mock interviews, site tours, and many other valuable activities which can perpetuate their long-term goals. Alpha Kappa Psi will introduce its members to many new friends who all share in similar ideals of personal and professional growth. Most members agree that the single greatest advantage of the membership is the brotherhood and friendships which arise from being a member. The friendships we form in college are the ones which last a lifetime. We are not just another business club; our fraternity prides itself on our unity as a brotherhood. Our chapter offers a unique opportunity to build your professional career and social skills, while making friendships that will last a lifetime. Last week, a few members from our chapter made the travels up to Seattle, Washington and toured four different companies as a part of our site tour! They got to speak with professionals and learn about company culture at Amazon Web Services, Standish Management, Climate Pledge Arena, and Microsoft! Big thanks to our former VP of Professional Development, .greber , for all your hard work planning this experience for our members!

Last week, some members from our chapter got to head up to Camas, Washington to learn more about Fisher Investments! As apart of the Site Tour, members got to see office spaces, get a budgeting workshop and hear from a great panel, including some UO alumni!

Yogin has been studying abroad in London over the summer! Hear what he has to say about his experience below:

“My study abroad in London with GEO was an incredible opportunity to explore UK politics firsthand. The program combined classroom discussions on political theory with visits to iconic sites like Westminster and Parliament, where we saw politics in action. Engaging in debates and learning from local experts deepened my understanding of global governance. London’s vibrant culture and rich history made every moment unforgettable.“

Alpha Kappa Psi holds Convention every two years and AKPsi Convention 2024 took place in Indianapolis! We had the pleasure of attending on behalf of our Kappa chapter at UO.

We networked, became friends with brothers from other schools/chapters, and met many AKPsi faculty and alumni. 2024 Convention also organized classes to strengthen our professional knowledge where we learned about decision intelligence, what LinkedIn recruiters look for, and heard insights directly from successful entrepreneurs. Chapter Congress transpired in Indianapolis as well, which enabled the AKPsi delegates to vote on proposed changes regarding dues, etc. and where president of Alpha Kappa Psi Corey Reddy recognized certain chapters for various achievements.

AKPsi President Reddy awarded University of Oregon’s Kappa Chapter with the “Certificate of Excellence Award” as a result of our chapter’s efforts in connecting with alumni, guest speakers, and the planning of significant site tours! Our “Brothers Night Out” event revolved around the grand opening of the Howell + Wendroff Professional Center- the new AKPsi headquarters in Noblesville, Indiana.

We had a memorable time exploring the Motor Speedway track and the city of Indianapolis. We’re thankful for this impactful opportunity that AKPsi provides!

KAPPA DUO🩵

Today’s Kappa Duo spotlight is on Nalia and Kacie!🌟They met in Fall of 2023 during rush and eventually became a big and little pair! Their favorite memory is not only being a big & little duo but also an exec & intern duo for Hui ‘O Hawai’i!! They work behind the scenes to plan meetings and do outreach for the club. Being able to work together and get to know each other through these opportunities has allowed them to get closer and become the besties that they are 😁 It is always a fun time running meetings, hiking, and just hanging out in general!!

KAPPA SPOTLIGHT🌟

Here are brothers and roommates Samantha, Gwen, Ava, and Nikki! Nikki and Samantha met in the dorms but got close during BA101 where they heard from a now graduated member about AKPsi and were immediately intrigued. During the rush process they met both Ava and Gwen and be came close friends during the pledge process.

One of their favorite memories is going on trips together! During spring break they went to Vancouver BC where everything that could go wrong went wrong! Nikki’s car got broken into, the toilet at the airbnb didn’t work the entire time, and they all ended up sick. They also love the memories of being at Gwen’s house for movie night where Nikki says unforgettable quotes! Their favorite place to eat in Eugene is at Alex Workman’s house!
