Erie Pa's Old Glory Erie Pa's Chapter of the National Flag Foundation. The Tri-States Largest, 30' x 60' ft, United States of America Flag. The original pole was over 150'.

Before Sept 11th, 2001 Charles E Brendel was asked by Erie County Council and a few military personal in Erie to part take in purchasing a flag pole and an American flag to waved in Erie County. The site was picked, Fairview Industral Park, and they began the process of raising funds and promoting this patriotic feet. Sept 11th happen and that changed everything. During that time Erie County Counc

il contacted the National Flag Foundation and purchased this 30' x 60' flag. Because the FAA and Department of Homeland Security rulings we had to start from stratch. The site was picked again but we have to bring the flag pole down to 100 ft from its original design and lay out. The flag they purchased was too big for the new pole. Erie County Council and the few military personal asked Charles E Brendel to take care of her and to be the custodian of her. Her being the American Flag. Since then Charles E. for 7 years after Sept 11th has brought her around to many schools to educate about the red, white and blue. Charles E and Jason C first display of her was the Memorial Day Kick Off Veteran Tribute Night at Lake Erie Speedway in North East Pa, in May 2008. Erie's Gymnastic Stars and Stripes Invitational inspiration was this huge flag and every year she is hanged at the Bayfront Convention Center in January. The first invitational was in 2002. Following all these request to have her being presented and waved, Jason C decided to reach out to the tri-state are and have her proudly waved. She has kicked off the Perry 200's Grand Patriotic Parade, She has been at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station in Niagara Falls NY and Don Jon had one the tallest crane hanging her for the Tall Ships Erie celebration in 2013. She has been at all Erie Sporting events at the new Erie Insurance Arena. We would like to thank the many service person serving our country, cities and states for their sacrifices and we dedicate what we do the fallen and hope they will never be forgotten.
