An absolute banger. Anise and candied cherry, reminds me of a jolly rancher. Finish is world class. Light, tannic with a mineral backbone. Everything a great wine should be 9/10

Whelp, this 2019 Dunn cab is hands down THE best California cabernet in this always-humble opinion. The first three times I had this bottle were on day 2, day 5 and day 9 after it was opened. The amount of perfectly structured fruit is just masterful. We were able to get one of the allocations for Colorado, and I don’t think these will be around after the holidays. They’re $229 each. And wholly worth jt. Thanks for this exceptional vintage.

Re-introducing our $15 and Under section, looking as pristine as it will ever be. There is a long history here but the précis is: yes, this used to be our $10 rack which persisted a little longer than the time where those wines were drinkable. (Ahem.) When you become a more experienced taster, you understand the quality difference that commands a dollar or two. (In no way does this correlate with Napa pricing, but totally different topic.) In short, choosing the wines in this range is time-consuming but absolutely rewarding for all of us, because even if your average Tuesday bottle is in the twenty-to-thirty range, everyone needs affordable backup bottles. And who doesn’t love a bargain. In fact, a few of these are favorites in their categories. In forthcoming posts we will highlight some of these unique and beautiful gems.

Mmmmmmm… when the heart wants white Bourgogne, and when it hits, it hits, and this is definitely the one for tonite (and forever!)(willing to put money down), thanks for this weekend win. For $37 treat yourself to a pocket of paradise. It’s lush and precise, elegantly flowy like haute couture but for a very small fraction of the price. Would go back for more 100% of the time.

Lucky to have these delicious wines in the house—this Cab Franc is Bruce, better known as The Boss, and he’s the perfect challenger for your fave Saumur. The winemaker’s Semillon is named in the likes of Jimi, challenging one’s notions of gendering varietals for sure, and is the only 100% Sem in this house, the whole world over. Lovely wines we are honored to have. We have so many S African wine-loving customers, and it’s such a delight to hear your excitement at our selections.
