Marlin (Albert Brooks), a clown fish, is overly cautious with his son, Nemo (Alexander Gould), who has a foreshortened fin. When Nemo swims too close to the surface to prove himself, he is caught by a diver, and horrified Marlin must set out to find him. A blue reef fish named Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) -- who has a really short memory -- joins Marlin and complicates the encounters with sharks, jellyfish, and a host of ocean dangers. I begin my travels back to Maryland and some much needed time back at the Wine Bin!

As I reflect on countless invaluable experiences and even more countless exceptional wines, while I will most definitely will be sharing all the things I’ve learned and wines I’m excited about, what I really want to convey is the spirit of the Willamette Valley.

These are people that care. They care about their land, they care about their traditions, and they truly care about each other. Every winery is on the same team, sharing a common goal of producing some of the most exceptional wines that this country has to offer. I implore all of us to share in this culture by supporting it.

I cannot thank Bryn Mawr Vineyards enough for letting me be a part of this experience, who are the true embodiment of this sentiment. Come into The Wine Bin, try them, and take part in a world that deserves to be lifted up and celebrated!

Today at Pinot Camp in addition to a wonderful luncheon of crabs and Chardonnay (I know the irony) the evening brought an enormous tasting where I got to some incredible winemakers, including the people of Illahe and Foris. These are some incredible lineups and are bottle we carry at the Wine Bin currently. Come in today and try them out!

Nick here from the Bin with an amazing thing to share!

This year I was invited to Pinot Camp, a week long event with the mission to make its attendees absolutely head-over-heels in love with the Willamette Valley, Oregon. Needless to say that has already happened, with the help of Bryn Mawr Vineyards, a stunning winery in Eola-Amity Hills producing beautiful Oregon expressions, from the modern and unique to the classic.

The Lauer family, owners of the estate, are as kind and welcoming as they are talented at wine making (saying a lot), and I am grateful to stay with them during this wonderful trip.

Stay tuned as each day will bring to revelations and insights into this amazing region that deserves much needed attention!

Obe Ata (Nigerian chicken stew) with classic Nigerian Jollof rice, paired with Domaine du Petit Clocher Rosé d’Anjou. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Gamay and Grolleau grapes from the Loire Valley have an amazing fruit forwardness of strawberry, citrus, and melon. Not sweet, but the lushness of the wine cuts through the spiciness of these traditional West African dishes, which are filled with red onion, curry, habanero peppers, garlic, smoked paprika and aleppo pepper. I’ve been rewatching Ted Lasso and this meal was inspired by the character “Sam Obisanya”. Bon Appétit!

Our boy Keefe absolutely crushed it this time!

“Tonight’s venture was based on a craving for deep dish pizza. Gluten-Free sausage and mushroom pizza (so my lovely bride can enjoy) with a side of oven roasted cauliflower/carrots/leeks/brussel sprouts in a garlic Parmesan sauce. Served with a California Central Coast Syrah called Right Hand Man. The fruit forwardness of the wine cuts through the umami/earthy aspect of the mushrooms and root vegetables and the savory flavors of the sausage, but its medium body compliments the pizza sauce and cheese. Cheers!!!!”
