Wheel Line Cider

Wheel Line Cider We create a variety of small batch, dry & crisp ciders, made with apples from our own orchard. Our tasting grounds are open every Saturday!

Rooted in Central Washington, our cidery creates, crisp, dry ciders, made from our Ellensburg orchard, and supports community and homegrown quality above all else. We recently launched a second brand, Appeel by Wheel Line Cider, which features tasty edible products made from the cider apple pomance leftover! Our market season begins every May and our annual open tasting season begins the first weekend of June.

Pop open a crisp, slow cider!

Welcome to Wheel Line Cider! Our cider barn is rooted in Ellensburg, WA and is located in the Upper Badger Pocket area on our family’s working farm, Timoteo Ranch. We have converted our old farm workshop and barndominium into a fermentation space, office, and has beautiful tasting grounds for everyone to enjoy! Visionary and owner Susie Jensen is an avid traveler and developed a love of the drink hard cider during her travels, trying a multitude of different flavors and styles. The more hard cider she tried, the more she became interested in the apples behind the delicious beverage. For years Susie and her husband Don had pressed apples from their trees by hand and had experimented with creating hard ciders. Her trees were dessert apples but she truly loved the old world flavors the bittersweets had to offer. She spent countless hours researching and finding heirloom varietals and then began planting a small orchard. They have dedicated 7 acres of their working farm to reviving and growing these treasured trees that produce apples that are high in tannins. After years of planting and tinkering with the idea of a cidery, she jumped in full force and began making her vision a reality in 2016! Susie’s Washington pride, love of heirlooms varietals, and commitment to creating a delicious craft beverage has lead her to this point, and we are so excited to share our ciders with you in 2018 and beyond!

Our agricultural roots run deep and inspired us to name our venture Wheel Line Cider. Half of our working farm still operates under wheel lines. Wheel Line Cider also has a familial tie to these machines as our visionary’s father-in-law A.E. Jensen patented the driver mechanism used in these long line watering systems in the 1960’s, and her husband Don Jensen has spent most of his life manufacturing (Thunderbird Irrigation) or working with these watering systems along side his father.

Our onsite tasting room will be opening in the Spring of 2019 and we couldn't be more excited to unveil all of the fun features of our tasting grounds! Check back here or check our website at www.wheellinecider.com for updates on where to purchase and or drink Wheel Line Ciders! Pop open a crisp, slow cider and enjoy!
