We wanted to take this opportunity to recognize one of the most dependable men around. Jamie Miles came out last night at 10pm to fix our basement stairs, which decided to detach this week! Your favorite ice cream shop opens tonight at 5pm. Happy Memorial Day weekend!

Before we open our doors for Memorial Day Weekend this Friday, we have one more big reveal: The Driftwood Arcade. Driftwood scooper Aubrey Lake spent nearly 100 hours designing and painting with black light paint to make the Driftwood Arcade a thing of glowing retro beauty. As she was nearing completion, the arcade machines arrived, and we discovered that games are so bright that they take away some of the glow effect. However, Aubrey’s artwork can still clearly be seen both at night and in the daytime. Here’s a video of the arcade in total darkness!

Finally, our big announcement: Driftwood will be launching a full craft coffee menu this summer. Lattes, espresso, iced drinks, assorted teas and hot chocolate are just a few of the items that will be offered. And 8 ounce, decaffeinated options for the little ones! We have partnered with Forte Coffee in St. Joseph, who will be providing us with locally roasted, delicious coffee blends. We will also have a light breakfast menu. The coffee bar seen here is in the back of Driftwood; the wood paneling is from some of the original display cases built by Carl Timmons that we were saving for this project. Barstools will surround the bar so you’ll be able to enjoy coffee and ice cream and the beautiful view of Round Lake. And worry not, the booths have been moved to the adjacent wall. We are extremely excited to bring craft coffee to Sister Lakes and can’t wait for you to see the rest of our updates.
