That term refers to whiskey bottled at 140 proof or higher, a level that the FAA deemed is unsafe to bring onboard an airplane. This new 33-year-old whisky was bottled at cask strength of exactly 140 proof, or 70 percent ABV, putting it into that category. If you can’t tell, that’s really, really strong, which is something that some people love, others not so much. Great recipe for tonight’s big game! 🏈
Cherry Vanilla Old Fashioned 🍒🍦

Ingredients
2 oz bourbon 🥃
1/2 tsp vanilla syrup or 1/2 vanilla bean (scraped) 🍦
1/2 tsp cherry syrup or muddled fresh cherries 🍒
2 dashes aromatic bitters ✨
Cherry (for garnish) 🍒
Orange peel (for garnish) 🍊
Ice cubes ❄️
Preparation
1. Prepare the Glass:

Place a large ice cube ❄️ in a rocks glass.
2. Mix the Base:

Add the vanilla syrup 🍦 and cherry syrup 🍒 (or muddle a couple of fresh cherries) into the glass.
3. Add Bitters:

Add 2 dashes of bitters ✨ to the mixture.
4. Add Bourbon:

Pour the bourbon 🥃 into the glass and stir gently to combine the flavors.
5. Garnish:

Garnish with a maraschino cherry 🍒 and a twist of orange peel 🍊 for an aromatic touch.
