Round one of qualifying here at Motorama finished up last night and we are on to round 2 this morning. The format is the same as the Chili Bowl so winning heat races is the key to making the A-mains! This last weekend at the 13th Annual Ice Breaker at Limestone Raceway in Kankakee, IL , congratulations to Nick Rank who took the TQ and Win in 17.5 ROAR Sprint running his Enforcer 8 DD Sprint Car. Also took a podium in Rubber Tire Sprint Car using his Outlaw 5. Track was in top shape all weekend long thanks to Jeff and his crew . Great track to race at if you haven't been yet. We wanted to give you all a chance to check out Robert Chapmans Custom Works rides from this years RC Chili Bowl. Robert was competing in the Invitational Class with 23 of the best Dirt Oval racers in the world and was able to win the Latemodel portion of the event with his Rocket 5 and ended up placing 2nd overall after 16 rounds of competition. As you will see from the photos and setup sheets below Robert's Rocket 5 latemodel and Outlaw 5 sprint car were both relatively stock out of the box kits with just a few added Truespeed hop ups like brass hubs, and the new V2 top shaft, slipper and slipper adjuster.

Congratulations to Robert Chapman on finishing second overall in the Invitational Class at this years RC Chili Bowl. Robert was able to win the late model portion of the program and finished strong in sprint to take the second overall position just 2 points behind winner Nathan Dean. Great job also to Billy Fisher who finished 8th overall in a strong field of the best dirt oval racers in the World.

Final day of qualifying is just about wrapped up here at the RC Chili Bowl and we have several drivers qualified in to the A mains including a few TQ's. Eddie Hill is your Top Qualifier in the Masters Sprint Class and Joe Bornhorst has taken the TQ spot in Open Latemodel and has qualified straight to the A in Open Sprint and Midwest Modified as well. Monte Hess will be in 2 A mains tomorrow starting 4th in Midget and 5th in Masters Sprint right behind team mate Phil Marabella who will be starting from the 4th spot in Masters. Several other drivers will start up front in the B's will be shooting for one of the 2 transfer spots out of each of the dual B mains. In the Invitational Class Robert Chapman is currently in the 2nd position with 4 more rounds of sprint to go tomorrow. Good luck to all of the racers in tomorrows main events!

We have concluded the 2nd round of qualifying as well as the 1st half of the Invitational program here at the RC Chili Bowl. While we still have 8 rounds of Sprint races to go we want to give a big attaboy to Robert Chapman who has concluded the Latemodel portion in the 1st position with 13 points that included 3 heat wins and 3 second place finishes with his Rocket 5 Latemodel. Several other drivers scored heat wins in the open classes today as well and will be looking for some more good finishes tomorrow. Good luck to all of the racers!

The first day of qualifying is in the books for this years RC Chili Bowl. Several Custom Works drivers did very well today bringing home some wins in their first round of qualifying. We also want to give a big shout out to the Texas Tornado Robert Chapman who scored 3 wins and a second in the first 4 rounds of the Invitational Class. Still a lot of racing to go but todays runs give Robert the provisional lead so far in the points standings. Billy Fischer also scored a win and 2 seconds to put him in the 4th spot at the end of the day. Robert, Billy and many of the other drivers have some new parts on their cars for this weeks race, check out the pics below to see those parts and the other drivers who had a good first day here at the RC Chili Bowl.
