We’re deeply saddened by the recent fire that impacted a local business in our community, and we want to address some concerns that have come up. One of our employees, who previously worked at the affected business, made some insensitive comments about the situation. After looking into it, we took action because this behavior doesn’t reflect our values or who we are as a team.
We’ve seen the post from Mr. Benny Roy and hope that, as a fellow business owner, he understands that sometimes employees act independently in ways that don’t represent the business. Instead of spreading negativity on social media, we would’ve appreciated if concerns were brought directly to us, so we could talk openly and make things right.
We want to be clear that the comments made by our employee do not represent our store or the care we have for our community. Having faced a fire ourselves at our Lafayette gas station back in 2010, we know how painful and challenging these moments can be. Our hearts truly go out to the team affected by the fire, and we sincerely hope they’re able to recover and rebuild soon.
