We were so inspired by the amazing new perspective on Dry January from , that we had to show off our favorite dry wines to drink this January!

1. 2019 Mercurey 1er Cru (A must try for all Pinot Noir lovers, even if you’re new to Burgundy!)

2. Chianti Classico (this is not your grandfather’s Chianti! This is a perfect expression of central Tuscany and the Sangiovese grape, with TWO years of aging in oak and 3 months in bottle before release.)

3. Noble One Chardonnay (A beautifully unoaked Chardonnay that evokes the classic Burgundian style.)

4. Sauvignon Blanc (A perfectly dry yet fruit-forward expression of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.)

5. Trocken Riesling (Not all Riesling is sweet! If you want a refreshing, minerally, and delicate white wine with light fruit notes.)

New Wines of the Week!

For our favorite picks for Labor Day weekend here at Leary’s, we’re thinking a little outside the box!

If you want to be the coolest person at the Labor Day Cookout, you NEED to bring a bottle of this delicious orange Sauvignon Blanc/Verdejo blend from (which thankfully comes in a liter bottle to ensure there’s enough to share)! Drink this if your Labor Day plans include fried chicken, seafood, and lots of cheese!

If you’re going to be your cookout’s resident “grill-master” this weekend, this light-bodied chillable red wine from will be your best friend. Pair this beautiful wine from the eastern French region of Jura with any grilled red meat, cheesy potatoes, and oysters!

We’re especially proud to feature the wines of this week as our wines of the week!

The Post-Flirtation blends feature the best of California’s blossoming natural wine scene, and are the perfect example of the power of patient and minimalist winemaking.

Martha’s white blend is perfectly thirst-quenching blend filled with notes of pineapple, kiwi, lemon, and a slight touch of citra hops.

The red blend is a juicy and versatile wine with notes of hibiscus, pomegranate, and rhubarb. Give it a slight chill and enjoy it with some pizza.

Some delicious Old World picks for this week’s Wines of The Week!
winning practices organic and sustainable viticulture, and we’re especially proud to showcase both their Pinot Noir Rosé (try it if you love Rosés from Sancerre) and their incredible Sauvignon Blanc (great aromas of lime, citrus fruits, and fine herbs).

On our second slide, we first have the Rosé Sancerre (one of the top three Rosé wines of the summer via ) and the delicious Pouilly Fumé! Pouilly is directly across the Loire river from the village of Sancerre, and here, Sauvignon Blanc is known as Fumé Blanc (which literally translates to “white smoke”). This wine is great to pair with seafoods, teriyaki, and other spicy foods!

Today was the Fairfield County American Foundation Suiicide Prevention Walk at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport CT. Even though a new bridge on I95 caused traffic delays, the crowds still showed up. This is year 11 of me doing this walk. Today’s weather reminded me of Ireland... it was a lovely outside walk with a few feathered companions joining in. We are accepting donations in-store @learysliquorcabinet until October 31st.
