We care deeply about how our winemakers steward their vines and the land they farm. The vast majority of our wines come from organic or biodynamic winemakers who have committed to taking care of their plants, soils, and environment in a responsible and sustainable way, and to protect these beautiful places for the benefit of future generations.

On this Earth Day we want to highlight just a few of our many organic and biodynamic offerings:

Branco - Dão
On former 12th century Cistercian vineyards in this mountainous zone, Sara & Antonio went organic 20 years ago, and now biodynamic, too. 15 varieties all spontaneously co-fermented, a pure and clear expression of these rocky hills.

"Anachronie" - Provence
An organic farm on the eastern flank of the Massif de la Sainte-Baume, this old-school deeper style of rosé is so useful for food pairing - dry of course! But with more time on the grape skins the juice gains a little more depth and texture than the usual Provencal

"Rubí" - Catalonia
Founded by a Dutchman tired of the office life and yearning for the mountains! Jeroen's wines are as natural as can be - and the Rubí, his "young" red, is a super pure expression of bright mountain fruit, spicy & stony.

An excellent example of Basque Cider, Isastegi is a bone dry, natural cider made from 100% local, organic apples grown high above the Bay of Biscay.

Known locally as Sagardoa, these sidras are a great pairing with Idiazabal cheese, giant grilled steaks and chops, sausages, and of course seafood. Finally, as is local tradition, sidra is best drunk with abandon and with friends!

It seems like not that long ago that the Negroni was an unknown drink - today of course it's one of the most popular drinks in the world, and has spawned a whole universe of variations.

One of the most interesting of all, though, is an old one - the Cardinale. Swapping out the sweet vermouth for dry lightens it up and highlights the herbaceous side.

Somehow it seems especially perfect on a day like this!

What better way to hunker down and ride out this weekend’s storm than with a Hot Toddy, Mulled Wine, Irish Coffee, or any number of other cozy and delicious hot beverages. 🔥❄️

Classic Hot Toddy Recipe:
1½ ounce brown liquor such as brandy, whiskey or rum
1 tablespoon honey
½ ounce lemon juice
1 cup hot water
Lemon wedge, cinnamon stick and star anise, for garnish (optional)
