The Hamilton County Professional Fire Fighters are recognizing Local 4416 members who are military veterans of the United States Armed Forces during November in observance of Veterans Day on November 11. Lieutenant Dave Gillespie of the Fishers Fire Department served as a Sergeant E-5 in the U.S. Army. After active duty, Lt. Gillespie served with the National Guard before leaving the military.

"I enjoyed my time in service and wish I'd have accomplished more while I was in," said Gillespie. "I witnessed the end of the Cold War and the fall of the Berlin Wall firsthand, and the aftermath of freedom given to people that had lived under communism for decades. I'm glad I had the chance to serve and experience the good and the bad that comes with life in the US military, as it helped form who I am and how I interpret things in everyday situations. I would not change a thing."

We thank Brother Gillespie for his years of service to our Country.
