As the spouse of someone in recovery, I’m often asked, ‘Do you drink?’ or ‘Did you have a problem too?’ And while those questions don’t bother me, I want to shed some light on something important: just because someone stops drinking or declines a drink doesn’t automatically mean they have a ‘problem.’ We need to stop stereotyping those who drink, and those who don’t.
For me, I stopped drinking to support my husband, but also because I realized my own reasons for drinking weren’t valid. At first, I still drank around him until I started questioning my relationship with alcohol.
Whether you’re drinking often to cope with stress or you’re an alcoholic, the root issue is the same: using alcohol to self-soothe. I never saw myself this way because I could ‘contain my buzz,’ but the truth is, alcohol abuse comes in many forms.
I’m here to give you permission to reflect on your own relationship with alcohol. Whether you choose to go sober, cut back, or continue drinking, that choice doesn’t define you. Your journey is your own. 🫶🏼

2024, what a year..
No matter how much you think you have a plan for your life, God always throws the curveballs needed. Our faith was tested, we had wins and losses, days of celebration and days where we wondered, “How will we rise from this?”
New relationships entered our lives, and some old ones exited. But through it all, we found growth in the journey. We opened our first storefront, received awards and recognitions that we are truly humbled by. We’ve heard your stories, felt your pain, laughed with you, and cried with you.
We’ve built a community that’s unshakeable, one that truly supports each other through thick and thin. We are honored to have you all on this journey with us.
Together, we’re not just surviving, but thriving—and setting the standard for how we socialize, uplift each other, and overcome life’s toughest obstacles.
We love you all, and we have a feeling 2025 could be the best one yet..
With love,
Taylor & Cayla
Stop looking at removing alcohol as a loss—it’s a gain. Every time someone says, “What’s the fun in that?” or “Oh, I could never give up my alcohol,” they’re missing the point.
The way we talk about this matters. “Giving up alcohol” makes it sound like you’re losing something valuable. Let’s be real: the only thing alcohol ever gave you was hangovers, anxiety, regret, and wasted time.
You’re not giving up—you’re taking back. You’re removing the one thing that was holding you back and making room for everything that can push you forward.
Talk to anyone who’s gone sober, and they’ll tell you: life on the other side isn’t just better—it’s unrecognizable. You don’t lose yourself when you ditch alcohol. You find yourself. That’s the truth. That’s the win.

I know you’re tired of…
…feeling like you have to walk on eggshells, constantly worrying about their mood and reactions.
…putting on a brave face while internally grappling with fear and uncertainty.
…having to explain their actions to friends and family, wishing they could see the person you know beneath the addiction.
…endless cycles of hope and disappointment, waiting for promises that never materialize.
…feeling isolated, as if no one truly understands the weight you carry.
…juggling the needs of your partner and your own, often neglecting your own well-being.
…the fear of what tomorrow might bring, wondering if today will be the day things change.
…being the one who has to hold everything together, longing for a moment of peace and normalcy.
…seeing the impact on your children, wishing they could grow up without this burden.
…feeling guilty for wanting to prioritize your happiness and health.
To the partner navigating this challenging journey, know that your feelings are valid. It’s okay to feel anxious, overwhelmed, or even helpless at times. Celebrate the small victories, both yours and your partner’s. Recovery is a journey with ups and downs, and every step forward counts. Hold on to hope and remember that change is possible. Your strength and resilience can be powerful catalysts for both your healing and your partner’s growth. Take it one day at a time, and never hesitate to reach out for help when you need it. You are doing the best you can, and that is enough. I’m so proud of you 🤍
