There I was minding my own business, trying to get special orders in and research wine and send documents to the accountant, but then a salesman walks in….Diplomático Rum has a new SKU they wanted me to try. The Diplomatico Selección de Familia is a 43% ABV blend of rum from column pills aged up to 12 years. It has an amazing deep amber color and a floral and woody nose. On the pallet, it was sweet without being sticky or cloying, and filled with raisin, chocolate, and light baking spices. The finish was medium long and pleasant. For us, it’s Fine Spirits Private Pick: Barrell Craft Spirits Barrell Bourbon, SB# Z4A1, 117.78 proof 8 years old and weighing in at a hefty 117.78 proof. This is a beautiful, deep copper-colored whiskey. The nose is all about fragrant oak and light floral essence to complement warm vanilla and caramel. On the palate it is smooth and luscious with great mouthfeel and sweet notes that match the nose. The finish is oaky without being drying and some spice peeks out at the end of that long finish. #storepick #bourbon #finespirits_fl
