Had an absolute blast at the Manufacturers Throwdown in Shawnee OK. An awesome start to 2024. It was a little bit of a different format: On Thursday we did Hot laps twice and Heat Race 1. We were ripping and I led the whole race. On Friday, it was Heat Race 2 and Qualifiers. We went 7th to 2nd in our Heat race which put us 4th in the Qualifier. There is a 2 spin rule - and I got spun out twice so ended up infield with a DNF 9th. Seriously disappointed. This put us 2nd in the Alphabet soup for the B-main. (For those that don’t know - the Alphabet soup- is where you race against the previous alphabet to get to the A-main.) Thus, on Saturday starting 2nd, I wasted no time - got in the front and was able to head into the A-Main. As a transfer - I started 11th and knew that I had my work cut out for me. I was confident that I had the Kart and the mindset - however - this is Dirt! So one never knows! At the start of the race I did a bump and run and made up 6 spots in the first lap and then patience with passing and determination won out and I finished 1st. I think that was the hardest part knowing I have it - but also knowing that I couldn’t rush it. The trophy is awesome - all metal and I was told it weighed around 66 pounds - so I’ll take a picture once I get it up ( somehow my moms thumbtacks I don’t think are going to hack it!) I need to thank - Mom and Dad - which I will detail our adventure there and back! AND the fact thatthey seriously support me becoming a driver. Thank you to Kyle Beattie, Leah, Karter and Kylea - I love being a part of your team and I believe we are unbeatable and unstoppable together, I love being able to be on the road with my best friend. Thank you Austin - for fine-tuning my motor and for being the calm in the storm when things get crazy!
