I have created a meal train page for Betty. I've had a lot of people reach out to me asking what they could do. She is doing well! She got home late last Thursday evening and could not have been happier to finally break out of the hospital. If anyone would rather bring meals to the store for her then I would be more than happy to deliver them. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers over the past few weeks! We appreciate all of you!

UPDATE ON MS. BETTY:

She had quadruple bypass surgery. The surgeon said everything went great, and he is optimistic for a successful recovery.

Praise God! Thank you all for your prayers! Please keep her in your prayers for the following days and weeks! We will try to post updates as we can. ❤️

UPDATE: We are closed for the remainder of the day. The gas and diesel pumps are on and accessible with card only.

We are currently open, but no deli as of now. Weston and I will be here for any last minute needs until 1pm, Tuesday, 1/21.

As some of you know, our sweet employee Ms. Betty suffered a heart attack last week and has since been transferred to Birmingham. She will be taken back in just a few short hours (6am Tuesday, 1/21) to undergo open heart surgery.

She has been feeling like herself again the past couple of days… asking about the store, giving the nurses trouble, and even giving her twin brother a little trouble too. She has already called Alice a couple times to make sure everyone knows that she will be back at the store and not to “give her job away” 🤣 Little does she know, we could never replace HER! Seriously, she’s part of our family and the Wilkerson’s Food Mart door is ALWAYS open for her.

We ask all of you to keep her, her family, the doctors, and nurses in your prayers! ❤️

Unfortunately, we have to share something like this far too often.

We lost another good customer last week and will all miss seeing Mr. Jeffery around the store. He was always working on something. Whether it was a garden or a tractor, I’ll always remember him as a “working man”. I know my mom and dad always thought a lot of him. He will be greatly missed! Prayers for family and friends during this time and navigating this holiday season without him. 💔❤️

Our friend Fred,

Back in the late seventies Rene’s daddy, Bob Sheppard, had a game room down at the bottom of the hill in Blue Springs with pool tables, video machines, and a jukebox! Rene’ and I had been dating about a year or two. It was there that we met Fred Daffin, his brothers, and cousins!
It was also there that we all became such good friends! See, none of us had much money but we had something that was priceless… friendship! I can remember Rene’s daddy would be getting ready to close the game room and Fred and his brothers wouldn’t have a ride home! Bob would load them up and take them home. Bob thought the world of those guys! I visited Fred last Thursday in Clio and was heartbroken! See, I’ve never seen Fred without a smile on his face. His smile, that would light a room, was gone and his earthly body was failing. I sat and held his hand and we talked about old times.
I told him that I loved him and would see him later! Fred passed away on Saturday morning.
So, until we meet again my dear friend, Fred!
Rest in peace 🕊️
