Join us in our Wineology classroom and learn more about Soju & Makgeolli on Thursday, October 10th from our friend, Jisung Chun! Jisung is an award-winning Korean food and culture expert. She has worked with the South Korean government and corporations to educate and promote Korean culture around the world.

🍷Happy International Grenache Day!!! 🍷

Exit 9 celebrated this special holiday a couple of days early when our wine educator, Dominique, hosted a Wineology class on Grenache/Garnachas. As you can see, we have a lot of Grenache fans who will be celebrating all weekend long!

In this Wineology class, our attendees learned about the red wine grape variety known for its fruity flavors and versatility. They tried many different kinds of Grenache/Garnachas from all over the world, including Pitones Garnacha, Alto Moncayo Veraton, Soleil Rouge Cotes du Rhone, Reserve Mont-Redon Cotes du Rhone, Hahn GSM Arroyo Seco, D'Arenberg The Stump Jump, and the ultra-special Chateau Mon-Redon Chateaneuf-du-Pape.

Exit 9 feels bittersweet to say goodbye to one of our longest tenured employees and latest retiree, Robin! Robin started at Exit 9 on the store's one year anniversary (11/01/02) and has been a constant presence at our front end for almost 22 years!!

We are so thankful for her dedication, loyalty, reliability and hard work over the past two decades. She has certainly become part of our family and we couldn't be happier for her as she embarks on her next journey. Please help us wish Robin a long and healthy retirement filled with laughs, adventure, and wine! 🍷 ✨💚

In February 2021, Exit 9 lost our family member, friend, and store manager, Ward Collesides. Ward is sorely missed, but his memory lives on through the countless funny stories and memories we bring up each day. His presence is felt in our store, and it lives in his carpentry work in all the projects he created in our store. Today, we honor Ward's friendship and dedication as we display his beloved leather jacket near our Wine Attic (a Ward vision & creation). All of us at Exit 9 are truly blessed to have known and loved Ward, and we miss him every day.

Today, our staff celebrated the retirement of our General Manager, Jim D'Auria. Jimmy has been our GM for nearly 20 years and he will be so missed at Exit 9! Jimmy was incredibly dedicated, especially to our staff. His door was always open and he was an extremely accommodating and thoughtful manager. He led by example and with a calming presence. We are so thankful for all he's done, from leading our staff of 40, to assisting customers out on the sales floor. Cheers to a healthy retirement, Jimmy, filled with adventure, laughs, love and plenty of fish! 🎣

Happy Derby Day! To celebrate the Kentucky Derby, you got to have the classic Mint Julep! It’s easy to make and is perfect for not only the Derby, but for summertime!

Listen, we love margaritas for Cinco De Mayo, but we’re going with a different cocktail that we’re sure you’ll love. Introducing the Sharon Sangria! It’s the perfect drink to start off May with a bang! You’ll need:2 oz of Encore Pinot Noir1 oz of Curamia Blanco Tequila1 oz of Lime JuiceTouch of Agave Syrup2 oz of Grapefruit Sparkling WaterAdd your wine, tequila, lime juice, and agave to an ice filled shaker. Shake it up and put in your glass. Top it off with grapefruit sparkling water and enjoy! Try it and let us know what you think!

In honor of the Masters this weekend, we’ve made their official cocktail: the Azalea. Augusta National finally let the recipe out and we’ll show you how easy it is to make this amazing cocktail! You’ll need:1 1/2 oz of Grays Peak Vodka1/2 oz of Grenadine5 oz of LemonadeCherry and lemon wheel garnishPour the ingredients over ice in a shaker. Shake well and strain over ice. Garnish with a cherry and lemon wheel. Try it and let us know what you think!

Blue Run Spirits The Blue Run Chosen Single Barrel is one of, if not the best, single barrel whiskeys to hit our shelves in years (which is something we don’t say lightly.) Blue Run has skyrocketed in popularity this year. The brand grew a cult following before finally hitting shelves in New York. In March of ’23, Blue Run announced their “Chosen” program which saw a small number of retailers throughout the country take part in single barrel selections. ��We were fortunate enough to land one of these here and, my goodness, it’s worth the price of admission. ��This particular barrel is anything but traditional. The nose is dry and features a myriad of fruit notes including banana, stone fruits—particularly pluot—and candied apple.
