Come taste 4 wines from specific villages in the Rhone Valley. Villages that produce grapes and wines of a higher quality continually for a consistent amount of time are allowed to bottle their wine under the village name. Tonight we'll look at 4; one white and 3 reds with a surprise red included for comparison!

Illahe Reserve Chardonnay 2023
This is Chardonnay that people who say they don’t like Chardonnay will drink. Amazing wine and were the only store in Charlottesville carrying it.
Gran Passione 2022 is an IGT from the Veneto and is a quaffer. It’s Corvina and Merlot that has been dried before being crushed (the same process to make Amarone). The wine is delicious and inexpensive.
Kloof St 2021 is a South African blend of Syrah, Cinsault and Tonya Barocca and it’s everything I love about South African wine; new world fruit and old world earth tones. I love it!

Domaine Bellevue Touraine Sauvignon Blanc 2023 is rich in texture with lovely acidity and great expressive fruit. $16.99

Pas Rouge 2022 is Gamey grown in Loire. It is akin to dark Cru Beaujolais. It's delicious.

Elias Mora Toro 2021 is Tempranillo or Tinta de Toro as it's know regionally, expresses the more elegant side of the varietal in a wine that is medium to full in body rich, ripe and easy to drink. $22.99

Finally Ontanon Rioja Reserva 2011 is absolutely fantastic for $68.99 for a 1.5li. It's showing it's age gracefully. The big bottle insures that everyone gets some at the table with wine left second round!
Depending on the size and drinking capacity of your crowd.

That's right. More South Africa. Rustenberg was originally founded in 1682 and has a long history of wine production. The property has had its ups & downs; several owners and devastation from phylloxera then resurrection by John X Merriman and his brother. I am very excited to have come across these wines. I have a long history with these wines and am very glad to add them to our South African Selection.

The Chenin Blanc is sourced from bush vines.

Barrel fermented chardonnay that's really good.

John X Merriman is a Bordeaux blend that rocks!
