Fall Wine Classes
We’re going Old World for our fall class schedule! These classes look at three classic European wine regions, allowing for a close look at what some of the world’s best wines have to offer. The lineup includes:
Tuesday, September 17: Tuscany
Sangiovese is the classic grape of Tuscany and this class explores four expressions of this savory red grape, including Chianti and Brunello di Montalcino. We’ll also take a taste of two of the region’s under-appreciated white grapes for a full survey of what this region has to offer.
Tuesday, October 15: Piedmont
While Barolo and Barbaresco – wines crafted with the region’s famed Nebbiolo grape – get all the attention, Piedmont also makes delicious red and white wines from lesser-known varietals. This class runs the gamut from easy, breezy Arneis to big, robust Barolo and everything in between.
Tuesday, November 12: Bordeaux
This is arguably the ne plus ultra of wine regions – the best of the best. This class features wines from six appellations, including Graves, Pauillac and St. Emilion, for an overview of what makes Bordeaux wines so good.
Led by wine concierge and author Kathleen Bershad, these classes are lively and interactive, appealing to the novice and connoisseur alike.
The class takes place from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Chappaqua Wine & Spirits, 65 King Street. The fee is $50 per session. In addition, participants receive a discount towards the purchase of wines tasted in the class. Seating is limited. To reserve a seat, just come by the store or call us at 914-238-3114.
