Keeping the store closed today with the heat wave. I almost passed out yesterday on the commute home even with great a/c. Couple bucks ain't worth the health risks. As a result, I'll be open all through the week and this upcoming weekend(cooler days, fyi).

With the opening of Hansen's Cowboy BBQ in Frontier Town we are adjusting our hours at The Happy Hogan this week as an experiment. I will be open from 12:30 pm to 7:30 pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Sunday and Monday we'll be open from 10:30 am till 5pm. I'd open earlier and stay open later but my dog Bruce said "no". He's always had anxiety and separation issues and loves his human daddy. And his daddy loves him. Maybe when he's older I'll start bringing him with so you can all meet him. Heads up. I'm getting antsy, lol. Heading back in this week to do some housekeeping and we may be opening the door soon. Also looking for a new hire. Part time. Couple days a week. $16/hr. to work retail. If you would like to learn how to make jewelry then we can accommodate that as well. My plan is to expand our hours this season and stay open later and 7 days/week. If you know of anyone please have then reach out to me here to get the ball rolling.

Summer is here and so are the hot days so we're taking a break. In the meantime I'm gonna work on some new lights and paint in the store during the mornings. Probably gonna consume a lot of wine during the afternoon and watch a lot of movies during the evening. Make tons of jewelry while watching tons of movies while drinking wine, lol.

At any rate, I just wanted you all to know. You should also know you can just message me if you would like me to pop in just for you. We'll also start restocking the online store this month and I'll probably start looking for another retail hire so we can expand our hours this upcoming season. Speaking of which, if you wanna work here a couple days a week hit me up. We can start as soon as I come back from break.

I haven't posted in awhile but I thought I'd drop this little nugget. Been sharing these updates on my personal page but it makes more than enough sense to share them here. Oh, before I forget, we're doing great! I'll restock the website with some goodies for the summer. I'll give an update to this ongoing story in another post.

"Day 1: So the last couple days, weeks, months, years may have given some of us some doubt in humanity. Some of us including me can take a rather pessimistic approach to "Faith in Humanity". Here's something to challenge that thinking.

Yesterday morning we had a rather busy crowd for this time of year on this particular year here by my shop. There was an old west reenactment taking place right next door. Wild Earp, Billy the Kid and all that. Kids we're predictably running around, people were shopping. I was standing in front of my store talking to some old customers from back in my mom's day. We were catching up. Off to my left I noticed money on ground getting blown around by the wind. My customers and I picked it up and looked around for an owner. Nobody looked our way or gave any indication of anxiety so I decided to pin it to the post out front as seen in the photo below. Maybe somebody would see it and say something. I don't know. I just know it wasn't mine. So I left it there. Went about my day(which was fantastic btw😉) and closed about a little before dusk.

Today I walk in and start setting up and low and behold look what we have here. The money is still there pinned to the post. I think I'm gonna keep it going. Let's leave it up another day and let's see what happens?

Just taking a minute to thank everybody that visited us this week and let everybody know that we will be taking much needed rest and will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but we WILL be open for New Years Day so I'll see you on Jan 1st at 10:30 a.m. .
