We want to wish everyone a happy, healthy, and safe 2024! We also want to take this time to thank you all for an incredible 2023! 2024 will mark our 90th year in operating a small family owned business here in the heart of Cape May, and we couldn’t be more proud to continue serving the community! ❤️

With that being said, we want to thank all of our customers who helped us donate over $5,000 this year! We strive to make an impact in this community the same way we did back in 1934.

Through our personal donations, the donation collection bin on the counter, reusable bag sales, and Christmas Parade parking spots, TOGETHER we donated over $5,000!

Some of the charities we donated to in 2023 include, St. Baldrick’s, The World Central Kitchen, The 90 Foundation (ALS), Multiple Sclerosis Association, The Michael J. Fox Foundation, Family Promise of Cape May County, LCMR After Prom, and Cape May Shelters Lutsk (Ukraine).

Today we honor and grief the passing of Laurie Johnson “Miss Laurie”, one of the most incredible human beings I have been blessed to know.

I was fortunate enough to know Miss Laurie since the time I was just a little kid playing Tiny Tim in A Christmas Carol at Cape May United Methodist Church.

Later in life I reunited with Miss Laurie at 17 when I founded Actions Over Words (an apparel company donating $5 of each sale to charities). In December of 2015 we produced a promotional video about Family Promise which reached hundreds of thousands of people nationwide. Because of that, Actions Over Words raised $1,700 that year for Family Promise. The smile that day on Miss Laurie’s face is something that will stay with me forever.

During the grieving process something that my Dad and I discussed was how we would continue to honor her. The best way to honor her is continuing to help and donate to Family Promise.

This past October, I printed these hand drawn HOPE tees (inspired by the idea that we HOPE to live in a world one day free of cancer) with Miss Laurie’s initials. Here at Collier’s we will start selling these again in a few weeks with ALL PROCEEDS being donated to Family Promise, to honor Miss Laurie.

The shirts will be available in a few weeks. We will continue to stock and sell them for the foreseeable future, honoring the life of one of the truly incredible humans who did so much for others. We will miss you Miss Laurie and will continue to honor you through our donations to Family Promise! ❤️

We at Collier’s want to express our extreme grief after hearing of the passing of Laurie Johnson. Know as Miss Laurie to me and my family she was a true treasure to anyone lucky enough to know her. She spent every moment of her life helping other people to try to live a better life. Starting with guiding my children in church youth group through her unbelievable efforts in running Family Promise she was always helping others. Words can’t express what an impact she has has on so many lives throughout Cape May County and words alone can’t express the grief we are all feeling.

1934 ➡️ Charlie’s Bar opened by Charles Collier at 202 Jackson Street (present day building of Collier’s Liquor Store).

1945 ➡️ Harry Collier joins his brother in the bar business, changing the name to Collier’s Bar.

1963 ➡️ Collier’s Bar becomes Collier’s Liquor Store owned and operated by Harry Collier.

1967 ➡️ Perry Collier joins his father Harry Collier in the Liquor Store business.

1993 ➡️ Reid Levin joins Perry Collier in the Liquor Store business.

2021 ➡️ Alec Collier Levin joins Perry & Reid in the Liquor Store business.

2023 ➡️Today we continue to be family owned and operated, run by 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation owners!

Directions ➡️ Our parking lot around back is open and available. Come down Perry Street from the beach front and make a right onto East Lyle Lane. Then from there you can U-Turn onto Mansion Street and into the lot in the back of our building.
