We had several talented artists visit us today! Thank you for decorating our cheese case with your art work!!! You could feel the excitement in the air throughout Cape Charles as folks gathered from many different towns, cities and states to celebrate our nation’s birthday. Thank you for visiting Gull Hummock. Thank you to our great staff who worked hard getting ready and then spent part of their holiday working.
It was a great 4th of July in Cape Charles.
We are thankful for the establishment of this one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. 🇺🇸

The INSPECTORS Band have traveled in from near and far to perform today from 6-9 at the 25th Anniversary Party of Southeast Expeditions taking place on Strawberry Street in Cape Charles, VA. Heather has taken off her Gull apron to belt out some Grateful Dead tunes! 🎶🎶

80 years to the day, the greatest naval armada ever assembled would carry men of the joint Allied expeditionary forces across the English Channel to land at Normandy, France. There they would face ferocious resistance while securing the beachhead to fortres Europe. Thirteen months later the Allies would declare victory over the forces of facism in Europe.

My Grandfather served there as a combat engineer, my beloved 1st infantry division spearheaded the attack on Utah Beach. We must remember now what it took to remove an empowered fascist despot then: the effort of the world combined. The blood and treasure of an entire generation.

We at YVBC give our thanks to those men then and now who stand between our American ideal and those who would tear it down. Raise a glass.

I want to invite everyone to see the new exhibit at the Virginia Beach Community Chapel on Laskin Road. The exhibit features artistic interpretations of Matthew 6. The show runs from March 11 to April 21. Follow this page to get updates on the show. The show is available to be seen during church hours Sunday from 8-12 and Monday-Thursday from 9-4.
