We are going way up North this week, all the way to Canada and featuring Lot #40 Canadian Rye Whisky. Rye Whisky is making a come back. Here is a recipe for an easy to make Old Fashioned.

Ingredients:
2 parts Lot 40Ā®
1 Raw Sugar Cube
5 dashes Angostura Bitters
Splash of Soda Water
Method:
Place sugar cube in mixing glass, soak with bitters and small dash of soda water. Pour in whisky and add ice. Strain over one large ice cube in glass. Squeeze zest across drink, give it a twist and place it in drink.

Orange Zest

The Volstead Act of 1920 which initiated Prohibition in the USA granted permits to six distillers in Kentucky to continue to bottle bourbon for medicinal purposes. Through one of these permits, Old Forester continued to be produced as medicinal whiskey on Louisvilleās famed Whiskey Row. It is the only bourbon continuously sold by the same company that has been available for sale before, during and after Prohibition.
