Tasting Today - Wines of South Africa - 1:00 - 7:00pm

Today we are featuring wines from South Africa and we are going to focus on their bread and butter. The whites are both made from Chenin Blanc, the most planted grape variety in the country. The reds are all Syrah and Rhone style blends and offer a fun mix of continuity and unique personality as you taste across them.

Testalonga is a small producer in the Swartland of South Africa. They have a natural winemaking approach but produce beautiful, clean wines. Today we’ll taste both their regular Chenin Blanc and their skin contact Chenin Blanc, which is really cool to do side-by-side. For reds we have two Rhone blends followed by a 100% Syrah. The intensity builds as you taste across them while the rustic, savory notes of South Africa are present.

Today’s Lineup:

Testalonga Keep on Punching Chenin Blanc 2022 - $19.99
Testalonga Stay Brave Skin Contact Chenin 2022 - $23.99
The Raptor Post GSM 2018 - $14.99
Secateurs Shiraz 2021 - $13.99
Nomad Wines “Sarel” Syrah 2021 - $18.99

Tasting Today - Wines of Spain - 1:00 to 7:00pm

Today we are focusing on Spanish wines with minimal intervention philosophies. When it comes to natural wine these are all on the good side of the force, meaning they are clean, well-made wines that incorporate natural wine making practices not as a blind mantra, but as a tool to make good, un-doctored wine.

We will begin with a skin contact Macabeo with a golden color, rich texture and great depth, followed by a Txakolina Rosé that could be my favorite pink wine of the season. From there we work through three reds, a Bobal with playful spice notes, a Garnacha with ripe, round red fruit flavors and a full-bodied and structured red blend. These are some fun wines that totally over deliver for their price range.

Today’s Lineup:

Finca de Molar Macabeo 2023 - $11.99
Ameztoi Rubentis Txakolina Rosé 2023 - $20.99
Finca de Molar Bobal 2021 - $13.99
Le Naturel Garnacha 2022- $12.99
Finca de Molar Pareja el Galayo 2020 - $10.99

Tasting Today - Sancerre - 1:00. - 7:00pm

Sancerre is known for its crisp, mineral driven Sauvignon Blanc. It has grown significantly in popularity over the last few years and has at times been difficult to keep stocked on the shelves. Warming temperatures have also contributed to some variety in style with some producers or vintages exhibiting a bit more weight and richer texture. Today we’ll explore Sancerre with three new producers we just brought in this week. It promises to be a delightful summer lineup.

We will begin today with Valala Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley but outside of Sancerre itself. This will offer a different price point from the rest of the wines as well as a fun point of comparison. From there we will pour two 2023 Sancerres that exhibit the zippy minerality for which the region is known, followed by one from 2022 which shows a bit more texture and riper stone fruit flavors. We’ll finish off with a Sancerre Rosé made from Pinot Noir that has a beautiful light salmon color, mouth watering acidity and bright red berry flavors. This is another fun one for sure.

Today’s Lineup:

Valala Sauvignon Blanc 2022 - $17.99
Roger Neveu Sancerre 2023 - $33.99
Comte de la Chevaliere Sancerre 2023 - $30.99
Patrick Noel Sancerre 2022- $37.99
Roger Neveu Sancerre Rosé 2023 - $25.99

In the last few weeks I’ve had trouble keeping the white Burgundy shelf stocked because a few of our regular producers have been unavailable. I was on a mission this week to find some good replacements and today we are featuring the results at our tasting. These are some really fun wines to taste together. The focus is on white Burgundy but we do have a fantastic red to finish off the lineup.

All of today’s whites show the brighter side of Chardonnay. Both of the Chablis are crisp and lively with minerality and great acidity. The Macon Uchizy offers a bit more weight on the palate but is not at all buttery. The Pernand-Vergelesses is a beautiful example of red Burgundy and Old World Pinot Noir. Warming spice notes support the red fruit flavors in a wine that is simultaneously delicate and powerful. The world of Burgundy is tough to break into because of the prices, so my goal with this tasting is to offer a peak into what the wines are all about.

Today’s Lineup:

Val de Mer Bourgogne Blanc 2022 - $26.99
Val de Mer Chablis 2021 - $38.99
Domaine de Malandes Chablis 1er Cru 2022 - $31.99
Meurgey Crosses Macon Uchizy 2022- $39.99
Patrick Giboulot Pernand Vergelesses 2022 - $46.99

Tasting Today - Adobe Road Winery and More- 1:00 - 7:00pm

Today we’ll be featuring wines from Adobe Road, a great California producer, as well as wines from Rueda, Spain and Languedoc in southern France. The theme is a little frenetic but it is a really cool group of wines.

The Nisia Verdejo uses grapes from vines that are over 100 years old. It is simultaneously lively and deeply concentrated. Adobe Road embraces the boldness of California but maintains balance throughout its wines. I am familiar with their red wines and we’ll be tasting their whites for the first time together. The Cocolico Rouge is a red blend from southern France showing beautiful maturity with tannins that are still holding strong from this 2017 bottling.

Todays Wines:

Nisia “Las Suertes” Verdejo 2021 - $34.99
Adobe Road Sauvignon Blanc 2021 - $24.99
Adobe Road Chardonnay 2019 - $29.99
Adobe Road Pinot Noir 2021 - $39.99

Wines from Slovenia and Austria at today’s tasting. 1:00 - 7:00pm

Today we are featuring three wines from Gonc Winery out of Slovenia and a couple great Austrian wines. Gonc is a producer with almost a hundred years of history making wine in Slovenia. Their wines are superbly crafted with great care given to keep a gentle touch in the winery. Together with an Austrian rosé and Zweigelt this lineup is perfect for today’s sunny spring day.

Our first wine is made from the Kerner grape which was created from a crossing of Schiava and Riesling. It is dry and refreshing, but with a richer mid-palate full of stone fruits. The Gonc Anna Rosé is racy and mineral driven with some playful tart fruit nuances and a finish that leaves your mouth watering. The Landaus Meyer rosé maintains a lively acidity but offers more red berry fruit flavors and a fuller mouthfeel. The Dirty Deeds Pinot Noir is unfiltered, giving it a fantastic texture along with its flavors of cherry, red berry and dark spices. The Erich Sattler Zweigelt is medium bodied but concentrated with a mix of earthiness, dark chocolates and smoky undertones.

Today’s Wines:

Gonc Winery Kerner 2022 - $21.99
Gonc Winery “Anna Rosé” 2023 - $16.99
Landhaus Meyer Zweigelt Rosé 2022 - $15.99
Gonc Winery “Dirty Deeds” Pinot Noir 2021 - $34.99
Erich Sattler Zweigelt 2017 - $14.99

Tasting Today - Wines of Italy - 1:00 - 7:00pm

We have some fantastic wines from across Italy for you to taste today. For the whites we’ll start in the south with a Grillo from Sicily then move north to Gavi. From there we’ll head to central Italy for a new Chianti Classico and we’ll finish up back north in Piedmont with a Barbera from Alba and finally a new Barolo we just brought in.

The Colosi Grillo from Sicily has a wonderful presence and mouth feel but maintains a nervy acidity and crispness. The Gavi by Villa Sparina shows great intensity and purity of fruit with some maritime influences from the Mediterranean. The Basilica Cafaggio Chianti Classico is earthy and rustic with high toned red fruit flavors. The Viberti Barbera d’Alba is a bit more dark fruited with some wild berry characteristics and rich concentration. The Bruna Grimaldi Barolo gives you everything you want from the region in a style that is remarkably ready to drink now.

Today’s Wines:

Colosi Grillo 2022 - $14.99
Villa Sparina Gavi 2022 - $19.99
Basilica Cafaggio Chianti Classico 2021 - $19.99
Viberti “La Gemella” Barbera d’Alba 2021 - $18.99

Tasting today - Gamay All Day - 1:00 - 7:00pm

Today we have a lineup of new Gamays that just came in this week. This is a fun grape variety that makes wines ranging from playfully whimsical to more structured and serious. We’ll start off on the playful side with a rosé from California and work across to the bolder side with a Chenas from Beaujolais. I’ve also thrown in a new Dry Riesling to give a little pop at the end of the tasting.

Folk Machine’s Gamay Noir Rosé is rich and juicy, but still dry, with generous bright red berry fruit flavors. The Gamay Glou Glou from Beaujolais celebrates purity of fruit while the Crac Boum Bu from Savoy blends in some Pinot Noir and a grape called Mondeuse. The Stephane Aviron Chenas has firmer acidity and a bit of tannin to give more structure and earthiness to the wine. The Union Sacre Dry Riesling completely switches gears at the end with a lemon tart flavor profile that intrigues the palate.

Today’s Wines:

Folk Machine Gamay Rosé 2023 - $20.99
Domaine Jean Baptiste Duperray Gammay Glou Glou 2021 - $15.99
Domaine Saint Germain Crac Boum Bu 2022 - $18.99
Stephane Aviron Chenas 2018 - $14.99

Tasting Today - West Coast Wines - 1:00 - 7:00pm

Today we have wines from up and down the west coast of the United States. We'll start off in Oregon with a fantastic new rosé and a cool skin contact Pinot Gris. Then we move up to Washington State with a beautiful dry Riesling. Lastly we'll head back south to California for a couple great Zinfandels that I wanted to pour at last week's tasting but they missed the delivery truck.

The King Estate Rosé of Pinot Noir is everything I love in a dry rosé. It is bright and electric on the attack, with nervy acidity throughout its red berry fruit profile and playful tart notes. The Scenic Valley Farm Pinot Gris strikes the perfect balance between the rich elements brought in from skin contact and the freshness offered by the juice of the grapes. The Corvidae Riesling shows wonderful tension between the wine's acidity and hint of residual sugar which makes the stone fruit flavors pop as they dance across your palate. We'll finish off with two Zinfandels, the County Line displaying purity of fruit from a light handed winemaker and the Easton Estate-Bottled Zinfandel giving power and depth from its forward style and aging in bottle.

Today's Wines:

King Estate Rosé of Pinot Noir 2023 - $18.99
Scenic Valley Farm Pinot Gris 2022 - $19.99
Corvidae Riesling 2021 - $14.99
Country Line Zinfandel 2020 - $34.99
Easton Estate Bottled Zinfandel 2014 - $39.99

Sierra Foothills wines at today’s tasting 1:00 - 7:00pm.

Today we are featuring wines made by Bill Easton in the Sierra Foothills. For Bill the winemaking process continues well past bottling. He designs his wines with the intention of allowing extended bottle aging before release. As a result they hit the shelves ready to drink, having already developed beautiful complexity and balance. Today’s reds are from the 2015, 2016 and 2017 vintages.

The Easton Sauvignon Blanc has a rich mid-palate, veering more into the tropical fruit flavors than the citrus side of things. The two Zinfandels having delicious. ripe red fruit flavors with incredible depth and concentration. The Terre Rouge wines pay homage to Bill’s roots as one of the original Rhone Rangers. The Tete-A-Tete is a blend of Grenache, Syrah & Mourvèdre and we’ll finish things off with a Syrah that fully embraces the varietal with all its savory and gamey nuances.

Today’s Wines:

Easton Sauvignon Blanc 2021 - $24.99
Easton Zinfandel Amador County 2016 - $20.99
Easton Zinfandel Fiddletown 2015 - $29.99
Terre Rouge Tete-A-Tete 2015 - $20.99
Terre Rouge Syrah 2017 - $23.99

Napa Valley & Sonoma at today’s tasting. 1:00 - 7:00pm

This week we will shift from the southern hemisphere up to California and focus on wines from Napa Valley and Sonoma. The wines of California lean on the more fruit driven side, but these producers all show wonderful restraint. The result is a lineup of wines that are ripe and delicious, but also in balance

The Trig Point Chardonnay is unapologetically California in style, but in all the best ways. Tropical fruit flavors meld with a kiss of new oak that brings toasty nuances and yes, there are even some caramel undertones. You can claim you don’t like it but I’ll know you do. The two Pinot Noirs have fantastic ripeness of fruit with bright red berry flavors and playful warm spices. County Line is a fantastic producer and their Syrah doesn’t disappoint. It showcases what the Syrah varietal is all about, layering savory notes and hints of pepper into the fruit profile. Lastly, we will cap things off with a big Cabernet based blend from Elizabeth Rose.

Today’s Wines:

Trig Point Chardonnay 2021 - $24.99
Elizabeth Rose Pinot Noir 2021 - $19.99
Sean Minor Pinot Noir Signature Series 2022 - $22.99
County Line Syrah 2021 - $37.99

Yes, we’re tasting today 1:00 - 7:00.

Well I wasn’t sure how to plan for today, but this storm looks like it will be the slow and steady type before wrapping up around 4:00 or 5:00pm, so getting around today doesn’t look like it will be too difficult. That means we’ll be tasting wine! We have a third venture into the southern hemisphere today before moving to Sonoma next week.

We will be featuring a couple more wines from Lubanzi out of South Africa. They do a fantastic job across their whole line offering quality and value. Their orange wine is totally dialed in with just the right mix of influence from the skin contact and bright, lively fruit. I’ve been trying to refresh our Malbec section and the Chakana Malbec is one of the best new Argentine Malbecs I’ve come across in the efforts. Its dark fruited core is supported beautifully with soft tannins and chocolate nuances. The De Martino Cabernet is unmistakably Chilean, with its vegetal and herbal qualities, but the ripeness of fruit and a little bottle age brings it all into a beautiful balance.

Today’s Wines:

Lubanzi Sauvignon Blanc 2023 - $14.99
Lubanzi Skin Contact Orange Wine - $21.99
Luigi Bosca Pinot Noir 2022 - $19.99
Chakana Malbec 2020 - $19.99
De Martino Cabernet 2021 - $14.99

Tasting Today - New Zealand & Australia- 1:00 - 6:00pm

For the next few tastings we will be focusing on wines from the southern hemisphere. Today we begin with Marlborough New Zealand and Margaret River Australia. We have a Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from New Zealand that are bright and lively. The Australian wines show restraint, keeping the ripe fruit of Australia in balance while offering alluring complexity.

Allan Scott has been making wine in Marlborough since 1973. His family owned winery is producing impeccable wines with fantastic value in the price tier we’re pouring today. Margaret River is a small pocket of wine production on the western coast of Australia. 95% of the country’s premium wine is produced there but it accounts for just a small percentage of the country’s total production. All three of the Australian wines we are pouring today hail from this region.

Today’s Wines:

Allan Scott Sauvignon Blanc 2023 - $16.99
Vasse Felix Chardonnay 2022 - $24.99
Allan Scott Pinot Noir 2022 - $20.99
Howard Park Cabernet 2021 - $18.99

Fun New reds at today’s tasting. 1::00 - 6:00pm

There are a number of red wines that I’ve been enjoying this winter but haven’t been able to work into a tasting. Today I’ve picked five favorites, creating a fun lineup that builds from light and bright to rich and dense.

The Beaujolais dances across your palate. The two red blends from Australia and Cotes du Rhone build in intensity. The Washington State Cabernet is full, rich and complex from extra bottle age. The Amarone at the end knocks things out of the park with its concentrated dark fruit flavors and warming spices. Stop by and run through this fantastic progression.

Today’s Wines:

Manoir du Carra Beaujolais Villages 2022 - $19.99
Minimum Red Goulburn Valley 2021 - $27.99
Remi Pouizin Vice Versa 2022 - $23.99
Seven Falls Cellars Cabernet 2017 - $21.99

New Italian reds at today’s tasting. 1:00 - 6:00pm

I have a number of new Italian reds that have snuck in over the last few weeks that I’m excited to share with everyone. There is a fun variety with wines from Piedmont, Veneto and Tuscany and they all do a great job of showcasing the regions from which they come. I’ve also thrown in a cool Sauvignon Blanc from Western Australia so we have a white to taste.

Most of Australia’s wines production is in the eastern half of the country, but there is a pocket of vineyards in the west that make some fantastic wines so it is fun to have this Sauvignon Blanc from Leeuwin Estate to pour. The Italian reds are a great snapshot of wine from the northern half of the country with wines from northeast, northwest and central Italy. The Valpolicella Ripasso at the end is sure to be a showstopper.

Today’s Wines:

Leeuwin Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2022 - $20.99
Poderi Vaiot “Lupestre “ Barbera d’Alba 2020 - $19.99
Tenuta Santa Maria “Pragal” 2020 - $15.99
San Lorenzo Chianti 2021 - $15.99
San Rocco Valpolicella Ripasso 2018 - $24.99

Featuring Australian wines from at today’s tasting. 1:00 - 6:00pm.

Australian wines were really hot when I was first getting into the business 25 years ago. The market was flooded with inexpensive large producers that offered simple, fruit driven wines for a low price. While brands like Yellow Tail and Little Penguin are good fits for a certain segment of the market, they also helped create a perception of Australian wine production that is very narrow. There is a whole other side with small producers making nuanced, high quality wines.

LEGEND Imports specializes in finding these wines and bringing them to the United States. I’ve tasted with them a couple times over the last year and each time it has been a great reminder of the robust wine scene that exists in Australia. Today we’re featuring some of their wines that will likely open your eyes and begin to change your perception of Australian wines.

Today’s Wines:

Little Rara Petillant #1 - $24.99
Montevecchio Rosso Field Blend 2021 - $19.99
Micro Wines Cinsault 2021 - $26.99

Tasting Today: Rare Wine Co. 1:00 - 6:00pm

I noticed that a number of the wines we've featured in the last couple of tastings have come from an importer called Rare Wine Co. and decided to see what else we might want to feature from them. The result is a lineup of wines from Italy, Spain and Hungary with a fun mix of styles and price ranges.

The whites today are lively and aromatic while bursting with intensity. The Hungarian Tokaji Furmint has a beautiful texture on the palate while layers of flavor unfold from start to finish. The reds from Italy and Spain begin a little more rustic with the Barbara from Piedmont. We then invite a bit more ripeness of fruit as we move to Spain and finish with fun oaky Rioja.

I hope to see you at the shop this afternoon.

Come taste some Burgundy! Today 1:00 - 6:00pm.

Today we are focusing on Burgundy with three reds from the great 2020 vintage. For white we have a delicious Aligote, a lesser planted white grape variety in Burgundy which is reminiscent of Chablis, with a crisp acidity and minerality. As a point of comparison we'll be pouring a Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, giving you first a look at a soft fruit forward expression of Pinot Noir then a deep dive into the grape variety as it is expressed in Burgundy.

These are some fantastic wines that we're pouring today and the lineup should be a really fun progression to taste through. The American Recordings Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley is all about purity of fruit, giving you a look at the fruit profile of PInot Noir. The three Burgundies then showcase the terroir of the region with the warm spice and structural components of the grape variety coming forward.

Today's wines:

Fichet Bourgogne Alight 2022 - $24.99
American Recordings Pinot Noir 2020 - $19.99
Albert Bichot Bourgogne Rouge 2020 - $29.99

We have 3 pretty cool Riojas in today’s tasting lineup. Stop by 1:00-6:00pm

We have some really cool, old-school Riojas for you to taste today. I have been trying to beef up the Spanish Reds rack and wanted some older vintage Riojas. We'll be pouring three from the 2012, 2014 and 2015 vintages. We'll also have a fun new Txakolina and a Montsant that has become one of my favorite values in Spanish Reds.

The three Riojas are done in what I would call an old school style. They see extended aging in oak barrels then even more in bottle. The last two wines come from Lopez die Heredia Vina Tondonia, a producer with a storied 150 year history that is still family run today. This is a great lineup and one that personally takes me back, as Rioja was my first venture into Old World wines when I was beginning my wine career.

Today's wines:

Inazio Urruzola Txakolina 2022 - $15.99
Celler Comunica "Vi del Mas" Montsant 2021 - $19.99
Senorio del P. Pecina Rioja Reserva 2014 - $31.99
Vina Cubillo Rioja Crianza 2015 - $29.99
Vina Bosconia Rioja Reserva 2012 - $42.99

Alpine Wines and Prosecco at today’s tasting. 1:00 - 6:00pm

Happy New Year!

We have had a great holiday season and I'm looking forward to capping it off with our last tasting of the year. Every New Year's Eve my family does a three course fondue meal throughout the evening as we wait for the ball to drop at midnight. This had me thinking about some fun alpine wines to serve with the fondue and of course we need some sparkling wine to finish things off.

Today we'll be pouring both a red and white from the Savoie region of France and a beautifully mineral white from Switzerland. The cooler climate and higher altitude of these regions make the wines nervy and vibrant. We'll follow these up with a trio of Proseccos that will make a great addition to your New Year's Eve.

Today's wines:

Charles Gonnet Chignin Vin de Savoie 2022 - $18.99
Domaine La Colombe Chasselas "Brez La Cote" 2021 - $34.99
Maison Philippe Vaillet Savoie Rouge 2021 - $17.99
Matho Prosecco Brut Zero - $13.99
Scarpetta Prosecco - $17.99
Le Vigne di Alice Prosecco Superiore Brut Nature - $26.99

Valpolicella, Ripasso and Amarone at today’s tasting. 1:00 to 6:00pm.

We have quite the lineup to share with you at today's tasting. Valpolicella is an exciting region in the north east of Italy. It is one of the few areas where grapes are dried before pressing for some of the wines. Valpolicella, Valpolicella Ripasso and Amarone offer a fun look into this process as each is made with none, some and all of these dried grapes respectively.

Today we are tasting all three styles, which offers a great look at how the grape drying process affects the wines. The wines of Valpolicella are often thought of as rich and dense, but as you taste through these wines you'll discover they are also lifted and exuberant with notes of warm spices, rich tannins and layer after layer of complexity.

Today's wines:

Corte Sant'Alda Soave "Fienile" 2022 - $21.99
Nicolas Valpolicella Classico 2020 - $19.99
Corte Sant'Alda Valpolicella "Ca Fiui" 2021 - $25.99
Corte Majoli Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore 2019 - $19.99
Tenuta Santa Maria Valpolicella Ripasso Classico 2018 - $33.99

Spanish wines at today’s tasting ! 1:00 - 6:00pm.

Today we're pouring a fantastic mix of wines from the northeast of Spain. The whites are from the coast Basque region in the very north and the reds are from Montsant and Priorat all the way to the east.

We'll start off with two great examples of Txakolina, a bright and lively white wine from the cooler, northern Basque country. From there we'll move to Montsant and Priorat where the the red wines are bold but maintain a beautiful finesse and complexity. These are some pretty exciting wines that are sure to brighten up a foggy, drizzly day..

Today's wines:

Gorrondona Bizkaiko Txakolina 2022 - $19.99
Ameztoi Getariako Txakolina 2022 - $21.99
Celler Comunica Montsant 2021 - $19.99
Alvaro Palacios Camins Del Priorat 2021 - $29.99
Noster Templari Priorat 2017 - $31.99

Chablis! Come taste some today 1:00 - 6:00pm.

A few of the Chablis that I have carried regularly haven't been available lately, so i've been on the hunt for some fun new wines to get on the shelf. Today's tasting will feature four exciting new Chablis and offer a pretty cool opportunity to taste and compare these beautiful wines.

Chablis' northern location and limestone soils create a white Burgundy with racy acidity and laser focus. The four Chablis we're pouring today are great examples of the region's terroir. They get a little pricey but are worth he every penny and having a chance to taste through four of them side by side is pretty delightful.

Today's wines:

Famille Gueguen Chablis 2022 - $31.99
Albert Bichot Chablis 2022 - $39.99
Florence et Francois Bachelier Chablis 2022 - $37.99
Henri Costal "Vallions" Chablis 1er Cru 2021 - $45.99
Pas De Pro Bleme Pinot Noir 2021 - $11.99

Come taste some wine. We’re pouring from 1:00-6:00pm.

We have two wines from Kivelstadt Cellars, a winery out of northern California that I really like. We'll pour their Gravignon Blanc, a co-ferment of Gravenstein apples and Sauvignon Blanc that is light and crisp with an explosion of flavor, and KL Labs Sonomasuolo, a blend of Mourvèdre and Syrah fermented whole cluster to create a light-colored, medium-bodied red with a sultry combination of texture and bright fruit. The Darting Riesling is lively and on the dry side, plus it will make it a little farther around the table thanks to its 1 Liter size. The Carlin di Paolo Barbera is a beautifully precise racy red from northern Italy, while the Baglio di Planetto Nero d'Avola shows the richer, riper side of southern Italy.

These are all some really cool wines an I'm excited to see peoples' reactions to them.

Today's wines:

Kivelstadt Cellars Gravignon Blanc 2021 - $19.99
Darting Riesling Kabinett Trocken 2020 (1 Liter) - $19.99
Carlin de Paolo Barbera d'Asti 2018 - $16.99
Kivelstadt KL Labs Sonomasuolo 2021 - $24.99
Baglio di Planet Nero d'Avola 2021 - $18.99

Two great Oregon reds and a favorite Napa Cabernet at today’s tasting. 1:00 - 6:00pm.

Today's wines:

Chateau Recougne Blanc 2021 - $13.99
Valckenberg Pinot Blanc 2020 - $14.99
Borealis Pinot Noir 2020 - $17.99
Anne Amie Gamay Noir 2022 - $21.99
Clos du Val Cabernet 2021 - $39.99

The two whites we are pouring today are dry and lively, but with a little more weight and roundness in the mid-palate. The white Bordeaux has some Semillon blended in with the Sauvignon Blanc for that purpose and Pinot Blanc naturally has good weight and texture. The Pinot Noir and Gamay from Oregon are classic pairings and I'm excited to finish things off with Clos Du Val Cabernet. This has always been one of my favorite Napa Valley producers. Jill and I served the 2001 vintage at our rehearsal dinner years ago, so it is fun to be tasting the 2021 vintage two decades later.
