Like all of our house made cocktail mixes, I created the Spiced Cider Punch to be as convenient to mix as it is delicious to drink. I’ve actually been making this cocktail every Thanksgiving for over a decade, but it wasn’t until the COVID pandemic that I considered bottling it up to share with all of you.

The recipe is simple but effective and pairs shocking well with a wide range of spirits. Bourbon (my first love) will always be my recommended spirit of choice for this flavor combination, but I’ve also been known to mix it up with some high proof Jamaican rum too.

If it isn’t already, I hope that our Spiced Cider Punch becomes a small part of your Thanksgiving tradition.

The one kitchen tool every host needs to really nail Thanksgiving dinner —

The Fancy Free Wine Key is made from quality stainless with walnut handle. It’s equipped with a double hinge, sturdy cork screw, and serrated blade. Each key was delicately laser engraved locally in Burbank. We think it’ll be your go-to wine key within no time.

‼️ NEW PRODUCT ALERT ‼️

Born from the notorious tequila family, the Camarenas (including his brother Carlos — master distiller of Ocho, El Tesoro, and Tapatío), Felipe has taken a modern take on tequila production while maintaining a huge respect for tradition. Felipe invented a mechanical tahona crusher that extracts 97% of the sugar from the piñas, maximizing yield and minimizing waste. Another oddity is his use of the heads (the initial portion of the distillate which is typically discarded) in the final product.

If you like to drink additive free tequila produced by a family of experts that goes back generations (which you should!) this one’s for you.

We’re obsessed with the wine because it’s tart and electric and literally all the cranberry sauce you’ll need on Turkey Day — yes you can leave the canned cranberry home.

What’s a Nouveau?
A tradition that began in Beaujolais region of France, Nouveau wines are released the same year they’re harvested — just in time for Thanksgiving. They’re only fermented a short while which makes for a fresh, electric juice that’s all the cranberry sauce you’ll need on Turkey Day!

Did we mentioned we have our OWN NOUVEAU?!

This may be the single greatest announcement we’ve made in years, but here’s the tl;dr: WE’RE NOW SHIPPING ANYWHERE IN CALIFORNIA FOR A FLAT RATE OF TWENTY DOLLARS!

When Fancy Free opened almost five years ago, we were in a pandemic that had us all hunkered down at home and the majority of our business was locally delivering orders anywhere in LA County or shipping them to you if you happened to live outside the county (anybody remember those days?!)

As we all slowly returned to our new normal, people started actually coming into our store (which we LOVE more than anything). Our business model shifted, but so did our delivery and shipping costs.

The cost to make local deliveries skyrocketed. Between gas prices and the return of LA traffic, it just didn’t make sense for us to make deliveries outside a very small local radius, which is currently about five miles and includes all of Burbank as well as parts of Glendale, North Hollywood, Toluca Lake, Sun Valley, and maaaybe a little of Studio City.

Between inflation, supply chain issues, and a major reduction in our own shipping volume, our shipping rates also went through the roof which made it nearly impossible for us to ship unless you (our customers) were willing to pay the crazy rates.

I basically came to the reality that we would no longer be able to reach anyone outside our little corner of valley, until about a month ago when we got a lifeline phone call saying that our shipping rates were being dramatically reduced, and just like that we were back in biz!

All that to say, if you can’t make it to the shop and don’t live super local, you can have anything shipped to you for a flat rate of just twenty dollars. It’s a game changer for sending gifts or stocking up… and just in time for the holidays. 💫

Cozy season starts… NOW! Temps have finally started to drop & you’re exclusively drinking pumpkin spiced coffee, so… SPICED CIDER PUNCH is back! 🍁

We first launched our Spiced Cider Punch back in November of 2020 when everyone was still holed up at home, missing their loved ones. Now, four years later, we have a new appreciation for being together ñ, and the Spiced Cider Punch had become how we kick off each holiday season. Whether you’re drinking alone, or surrounded by people, make yourself a drink, and put on your comfiest sweater. Cozy season is here.

We start with fresh apple cider that we mull in-house with fall spices (cinnamon, clove, all spice, & star anise). We combine that with fresh lemon juice and spicy ginger syrup for the ultimate fall cocktail mix. And we’ve got two ways to get your hands on some…

‼️ NEW PRODUCT ALERT ‼️

(Italian for “delinquent”) makes low intervention wines from Southern Italian grape varieties grown in the Riverland, Southern Australia. Due to its hot and dry climate the Riverland is optimal for growing these drought resistant southern italian varieties. Tuff Nutt drinks a bit bitey, green, and underripe, there’s also this kinda smokey clay thing too. Think vhino verde but sparkling and…not as apple.

NEW PRODUCT ALERT ‼️

Mal Bien is well known for their mezcalero specific releases, but they’ve got something reeeeal special with this relatively new release!

Mezcalero Lucio Móralas López uses Espadín (v common/popular agave) that he both distills and later infuses with Zacate Limon (lemon grass). It’s a style of mezcal called Abocado, which centers around the idea of sweetened or infused mezcals.

The mezcal is an homage to his wife Agustina, so if you thought about getting creative this holiday season, producing a world class mezcal inspired by your partner has been done…. sorry!

At $39 a bottle, it’s a no brainer. 💛

Wanted to introduce y’all to this year’s SCREAM QUEEN cocktail mix! The only way to naturally get that murderous blood red color (and texture) is fresh beet juice, so we’re went there. We combined that with pomegranate juice, lemon juice, and mint for a flavor profile that’s so refreshing and delicious, these cocktails will really sneak up on you… 🔪

I wanted to introduce y’all to this year’s HEADHUNTER cocktail mix! The inspiration for the flavor profile comes from the Japanese condiment, Yuzu Kosho. We’ve combined fresh yuzu and lemon juices and delicately balanced them against sea salt, sugar, and chili.

Because the mix has got a little bit of a kick, tequila or mezcal are the obvious pairings (who doesn’t love a spicy Margarita riff? 🤠) but it can really be paired with your spirit or alcohol-free spirit of choice.
