Wizard Water | With everything going on, we’re featuring some Southern CA products to support. Friendly Noise is a wonderful cider and wine collaboration between friends Peter Clausen and Andrew Sylvia. Wizard Water is a piquette wine that uses residual Grenache Blanc pomace, seeds, and skins AND then is co fermented with meyer lemons. Westsider Gin | Another LA pick! Aaron the master distiller @ Dead of Night is a long time LA dude with a distillery downtown about half the size of the shop. His Westsider is very much an LA-inspirited spirit and features garden botanicals. Jasmine, pink peppercorn, rosemary, and citrus. Great in gin sours and other citrus forward gin cocktails!

Not sure if we ever officially introduced ya’ll to our SCOUT HAT! Like any good scout, we choose a two tone hat in khaki and green so you can blend seamlessly into the wild streets of Burbank. Big game this weekend! This may be an unpopular opinion but if we can’t have a LIONS VS BILLS Super Bowl, isn’t the next best thing watching the Chiefs go for a Three Peat? Love ‘em or hate ‘em, it’ll be history in the making. Sure the refs might be bought and paid for but you overpaid on Eras Tour tickets and now Taylor has billions and she doesn’t lose. Plus isn’t the whole thing just “sports entertainment” anyway? 🫣

Anyway, we’re well stocked with plenty of cold bois. ✌🏼

| The pickle beer sweeping the nation. A bit in the weeds here but I find the origin really interesting, it’s made by this brewery called Pilot Project Brewery Incubator. Think like a combo of MGP and a beer think tank? Regardless, it’s been super popular the last couple weeks and people seem to be on the hunt for it. Light American Lager style with a bit of salinity and dill going in. Interesting!

dropped an article this week titled “Are You Even Famous If You Don’t Have an N/A Drink Line?”

And sure, shots fired at Katy Perry cause she’s got her name and her mug all over , but unlike most celeb brands, Katy teamed up with one of LA’s all time great Master Distillers, Morgan McLachlan (of .botanics), to create a line of alcohol free aperitif-style spritzes that were bubbly & delicious but didn’t get in the way of early mornings.

Katy & Morgan aren’t simply recreating familiar cocktail profiles without the alcohol. They’re exploring brand new flavor combinations using plants and other better-for-you ingredients with big bold flavors, and they’re DELICIOUS!

Brooklyn-based makes some our favorite alcohol free ready-to-drink cocktails. As a company, they specialize in making proper aperitivos and amari, so their alcohol free offerings are pretty damn close to the real thing. If you haven’t already given these a try, do yourself a favor.

| We love amari cause…whats not to love? And if it’s a local amari?! Forget about it. Festif’s Amaro is crafted by longtime LA bartender David Bly and drinks in a similar world to Montenegro. Spicy tea with some wonderful citrus and honey sweetness. Really wonderful stuff. SUPPORT LOCAL AMARI!

WE’RE OPEN 🤝🏼

I’m at a bit of a loss for words today, feeling devastated by the damage caused by the wildfires. Now that power has been restored throughout Burbank, doors are open and will remain so every day from 12 - 8 until further notice. If you find strength in community or just need a break from doom scrolling, we’ll be here with friendly faces, and natural wine, and pints of ice cream.

We’re grateful for all of our first responders both here in Burbank and through entire LA area. We really do live in the City of Angels.

Mahon Gin () is one of the few regionally protected gin products (plymouth is the other that comes to mind). It began production when Menorca, Spain was a popular British military outpost. Still made through a direct fire copper pot, Mahon uses a grape based spirit and its ONLY botanical is juniper!
