Friends! I opened my business in the Elmwood Village because it's such a great place to "live, work, and play." The flowers along Elmwood Avenue in the summer, the Farmers Market, the free concerts in Bidwell Parkway every Tuesday starting in June, Porchfest, and so much more. All of this happens because of the and as a volunteer board member, I am acutely aware of how important it is to support this non profit organization so these great events keep happening. To support organizations in general that you care about especially if they do things you partake in and enjoy.
So if you like strolling Elmwood Avenue amongst hanging baskets and planters full of flowers, going to the Farmers Market, going to the free concerts in Bidwell Parkway and Porchfest, or if you just like going to meat raffles, please pick up a ticket or two (or a table!) for the March 22nd Elmwood Village Association Fundraiser. Head to their page or website to buy a ticket.
As always, if you ever have questions about the EVA you are always welcome to stop in and chat. Your support is incredibly appreciated.
Hope to see you on the 22nd! Buy your ticket today!

Though Mickey Harmon’s presence is undeniably the veil over Allentown, his buoyant personality and artistic talent most certainly made its way up Elmwood and beyond. Mickey was a Thin Ice artist who couldn’t keep us stocked, everyone loved his work so much and we loved working with him. More recently, we had the pleasure of working with Mickey through our work at Buffalo State and hearing him talk, impassioned as always, brought an exuberance not often seen at a 7:30am meeting. He was always interesting to listen to and he always had so much to share and so much he wanted to do, always for the betterment of Allentown and Buffalo. We are so grateful to have known this shining light of a human and while we did not know Jordan, if Mickey chose to shine his light on him, there’s no questioning that he deserved it.
This is a devastating loss on so many levels but thankfully, because of the powerful force that Mickey was, his impression will live on and continue to enhance and enrich this area that he called home. We are proud to have known Mickey and are grateful for all the ways he’s left his mark.
