Not to toot our own horn (too loudly), but:
1. We've shown remarkable restraint when it comes to "accidentally" running UV Keramik's exquisite pottery through rigorous testing. Consider it officially confirmed: they're not just beautiful, they can handle your dishwasher and microwave like champs.
2. The debate over the ultimate Rob R. Robinson artwork in the shop is reaching legendary status. Feel free to weigh in and further complicate our already impossible decision.
3. The fascinating individuals in our antique photo collection remain largely a mystery. We've only embellished some of their lives with tales of woe, hidden treasures, and maybe a friendly ghost or two. For dramatic effect, obviously.
4. Our method for curating our cigar selection might involve a superficial appreciation for a well-designed label. At least we're not picking our next read based solely on how pretty the jacket is... most of the time.
5. And apparently, we're now a must-visit destination according to some travel article on islands.com. We are thrilled to announce that we're finally breaking up the monotony of sarcasm and judgement around here. We're welcoming a new tattoo artist who's actually... gasp... bubbly and friendly! Don't worry, she's still in tattoo school, so she still has time to become jaded like the rest of us. To meet Oregon's licensing requirements, she needs to complete 50 tattoos. This could be you in 150 years, but not if you don’t get over here and get your picture taken. We’ll be at the shop today doing tintype photos. By we, I mean Nolan Streitberger of course. I’m just moral support and waterboy. We’ve get a new steampunk backdrop, if that’s your thing. This is the last weekend for “The Museum of Techno Art” display. Super rad artwork and sculptures. We have new ci**rs in stock, and sometime today new “Ofishul” to***co pipes are being delivered. Plus… the ever-dripping is again dripping, it’s worth the trip itself. Stop on over, say hi today.

Everyone got plans tomorrow? Maybe something rad? If not, pssst, come here. Let me tell you something. Tomorrow is our opening of The Museum of Techno Art takeover at jankybirdtattoo. I don’t want to spoil it, but it’s stunning. We are humbled to have such amazing artists and visionaries, sharing their life’s work at our shop. It will be up all month, but tomorrow a number of the artists will be present. If that’s not enough, which I get, ugh effort, tomorrow is also the annual Brownsville Antique Faire. It’s a huge. In addition to the antiques, there’s a car show. Expect to see a frrrrrtruck in it. Catch you around, if you can be bothered. Cheers.

During the month of August 2024, The Museum of Techno Art will be exhibiting right here at Janky Bird!

The MTA showcases art with technology or industrial themes, reflecting on the history of human invention, retrofuturism or imaginative machines of the future and having an irresistible visual appeal.

Featured artists will include: Joe Mross, Steve La Riccia, Barbora Bakalarova, Jud Turner, Max Rink, Renee Turner, and Rob Bolman.

Artists from the MTA will be on hand at Janky Bird on Saturday, August 3rd and Saturday, August 31st to talk and demonstrate their work.

The MTA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and is seeking funding to expand in the future. Memberships are available & donations welcomed.

Welcome friends! We will be doing traditional 1850’s tintype photos today from 12-4ish during Carriage Me Back. Cost is $60, and takes about 30 minutes. Each photo is a unique piece of art, and you get to experience the entire process from start to finish. Final tintype is ready to take home in about an hour. Stop in today, if you can be bothered, and let’s make art.

Been terrible about taking photos and even worse at posting. I suck, sorry. Anyway, I drew a plague doctor Raven about 6 months ago for a friend, but decided this morning I no longer liked that design. So about an hour before tattooing I knocked out this one. Quick little tattoo. Cheers people.
