This is one terrific “best kept secret “. If you are like me, you react to the idea of using lye soap in a very negative way. ( they should probably rename this product!). But when I finally took the time to read the flyer provided by the company, I learned there are two types of lye and the harsh chemical lye had nothing to do with this soap. So… I grabbed a bar to test it. And it is AWESOME!! It really does make a huge difference combating dry skin. Give it a try. I think you’ll be glad you did.

Yesterday was a snowy day in Bridgton. It was not so much the accumulation ( I am guessing perhaps 3-4ish inches) but the fact that it kept snowing all day! It was light, fluffy stuff that was easy to shovel and very pretty.
But I digress… we always like the way the store looks on a cloudy day and/or as the sun sets. The lighting is really accentuated at this time. Hence today’s post. The lights are such an important feature of any home that I thought they deserved some attention. Only had room to post ten of them. We have more. Is it time for a new addition to your home?

Tis the season for dry, cracked skin… and we have many products that address this issue. Everyone has their favorites. And of course every body is different so that makes sense to me. All that being said, here are favorites of Mark and Pam. Mark swears that if you have cracks on your fingertips, put some Gardeners on and wrap a bandaid around it. In the morning it will be so well healed that “you can dip it in salt”! ( I have yet to figure out exactly why you would want to do the salt thing!) I love the Outdoor Hands Skin Therapy. Use it at night on feet. It really works for me.

There is something about these socks! We went through the first large order almost instantly and reordered quickly. Now the second batch is flying out the door. I took home a pair to test drive and they met with my approval. We are currently well stocked. I am thinking a pair of cozy socks (with hearts?) is something to pick up for Valentines Day.

Some folks came into the store needing another pair of these awesome ice cleats. He had a pair that were so vastly superior to her pair that she saw she must have an upgrade!!
Perhaps you’ve heard me rave about this product in the past. If so, let it be a reminder to use your cleats!! There certainly is ample opportunity to do so right now. My recommendation is to dedicate a pair of boots to the cleats so they are always ready and available. I keep those boots in my car. I promise you will not be disappointed when you try out these cleats.

I really think the infamous Christmas Spinny Thing deserves more recognition. Here is another use suggested by a customer. We love having it on our wood stove. Open seven days a week from 10-5.

Yup, it is a cherry pitter. Mark was excited to find one in such good shape. Congratulations to all who participated. We had some very astute guesses. Thanks for playing “What’s that Thing?”. We are open seven days a week from 10-5.

A good friend ( hi Jon!) recently mentioned that he missed our postings of “What’s that Thing?”. We have mostly run out of “things” to post. But Mark found a treasure trove of new/old stuff this weekend. So here we go…. What is this thing? Please post your best guess in the comments below. The correct answer will be in tomorrow’s post. Yesterday a wonderful group of women came into shop. This lady made a point of thanking us for the squirrel proofing tip and how well it works. Then she agreed to tell all of you! We ARE OPEN TODAY in the storm! (10-5) Come get your slinky, we have plenty of!😄
