Palmer Springs Volunteer Fire Department will be serving up a delicious Fried Chicken Dinner this Friday, May 24, from 5 pm to 7 pm. Drive thru or dine in for Fried Chicken, Green Beans, Boiled Potatoes, Roll, Dessert and Water for $12 per plate. Preorders are highly encouraged and may be placed by calling 434-689-2739 prior to 10 pm daily. Preorders will only be accepted until 10 pm Thursday, May 23. The Palmer Springs Volunteer Fire Department’s Firehouse is located at 1697 Palmer Springs Road (the intersection of Palmer Springs Road, Rough Road and Mineral Springs Road) in Palmer Springs, VA. Catfish & Shrimp Fest is BACK- Preorders Only!!!

Palmer Springs Volunteer Fire Department’s Catfish & Shrimp Fest fundraiser will be Friday, April 26, 2024 from 5 pm to 7 pm. Drive thru or dine in for Fried Catfish, Fried Shrimp, Baked Beans, Cole Slaw, Hush Puppies, Dessert and Water. $20 per plate. NOTICE: North Bend Main Boat Ramp and Palmer Point Boat Ramp are currently closed due to a lower lake elevation. The Area A boat ramp inside North Bend Park is still open as well as Eastland Creek Boat Ramp. NOTICE: North Bend Park Day Use Area opened today, November 1st, for the winter recreation season (Nov. - March). This opening includes the day use area, Osage Picnic Shelter, disc golf course, main boat ramp, Area A boat ramp, and walking/biking path within the day use area. Please note that the vehicle day use fee continues to apply to those recreating in these areas. When visiting, you will need to purchase the vehicle day use pass at the fee machine or display your valid Corps Annual Pass/America the Beautiful Pass. As a reminder there is no winter camping this season at North Bend Park. Remember to wear a life jacket and be safe while recreating near the Reservoir. Please call the Visitor Assistance Center at 434.738.6143 with any questions.

NOTICE: Please remember per the earlier News Release, all of North Bend Park, camping and day use, is closed as of yesterday, Sept. 15th, all current campers will be checking out as of today on Sept. 16th. Future updates on operation status will be forthcoming as soon as possible. The North Bend Park gatehouse will remain open 7 days a week, 9AM – 5PM, and will have Corps Annual and America the Beautiful passes available to buy.
